Role Purpose
The Marketing Intern supports the Economic Development, Governmental Affairs, and Marketing teams by assisting with research, stakeholder engagement, customer support activities, and special projects. This position provides hands-on exposure to marketing initiatives, community relations, customer account management, and utility business operations. The intern will gain practical experience while contributing to projects that support business growth, customer satisfaction, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with industry, market, economic, legislative, and community research projects to support departmental initiatives.
- Gather, organize, and analyze data for reports, presentations, and project summaries.
- Assist in preparing marketing materials, information packets, and customer communications.
- Support coordination of meetings, stakeholder events, community outreach activities, and customer visits.
- Maintain records, databases, project files, and customer or stakeholder information
- Assist with responding to customer, community, and stakeholder inquiries under supervision.
- Collaborate with internal departments including engineering, operations, customer service, communications, and governmental affairs on assigned projects
- Participate in special projects and presentations that support business development, economic growth, and community partnership objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Political Science, Public Relations, Engineering, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct research and present findings clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
