Project Manager, Construction
The Project Manager, Construction supports the Director of Construction and Design in executing capital construction and renovation projects across Tryon Medical Partners. This role serves as the day-to-day lead on capital construction and renovation projects, including medical office builds, advanced diagnostics buildouts, and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) projects. Manage each project from feasibility and design through permitting, construction, and close-out, keeping scope, schedule, and budget on track throughout.

Manage each project from feasibility and design through permitting, construction, and close-out, keeping scope, schedule, and budget on track throughout.
Primary Job Responsbilities
Required
- Manage assigned projects end-to-end: scope, schedule, budget, and milestones
- Guide projects through feasibility, design development, permitting, construction, commissioning, and close-out
- Serve as primary contact for architects, engineers, general contractors, and specialty consultants, and monitor their performance against schedule, budget, and quality
- Review and process change orders, pay applications, and invoices, and prepare budget status reports and forecasts
- Keep projects compliant with applicable building codes and safety standards, partnering with the clinical team on healthcare-specific and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with Clinical, Operations, IT, Facilities, Procurement, and Finance to keep projects aligned with organizational needs
- Identify risks and issues early, and escalate to the Director with recommended solution
- On-site visits to active construction projects and periodic travel within the Charlotte region.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Required
- 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects end-to-end, including ground-up and/or renovation work
- Strong command of the design and permitting process, from feasibility through construction documents
- Proven track record keeping multiple concurrent projects on schedule and under budget
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design or a related field
- Strong vendor and general contractor management, contract administration, and budget-tracking skills
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools
- Healthcare, medical office, or other regulated-environment construction experience
- PMP, LEED AP, and/or Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC)
- Experience with multi-site or growing organizations
Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based with frequent on-site visits to active construction projects
- Periodic travel within the Charlotte region and surrounding markets as needed
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling
- Must be able to lift and support weight of 35 pounds
- Ability to concentrate on details
- Use of computers for long periods of time
