Program Mission
PREP (Prevention and Recovery from Early Psychosis) is a community-based coordinated specialty care team providing mental health services for young people (age 13-26) who have had a recent first episode of psychosis or who are at clinical high risk for developing psychosis. The team’s work includes supporting clients and their families as well as providing community education related to early psychosis. The PREP team includes medical prescribers (MD and APRN), clinical therapists, case management, occupational therapy, peer support, and supported education/employment services. Most of the work is done in the community. PREP serves a growing caseload of 50+ clients.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the PREP Program Manager, the Program Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to the PREP team. This position helps ensure that client records, team information, supplies, and routine program data are organized, accurate, current, and readily accessible. The Program Assistant works closely with clinical and program staff to support efficient team operations and promote timely, coordinated services for clients experiencing early psychosis.
Essential Duties
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to clinical and medical staff (open and close clients in EHR, create and archive paper files, enter and track assessment data and medication delivery records, keep digital files organized and current, maintain office/intervention supply inventory, assist with scheduling, document preparation, scanning, filing, data entry, event planning, special projects, and other administrative tasks).
- Maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality at all times.
- Attend work on a regular and predictable basis.
- Work must be performed on-site due to the need to provide direct client care and team support.
Secondary Duties
- Coordinate care with existing internal and external providers at the point of admission, discharge and level of care changes. This entails document preparation, coordination phone calls, and documentation of communication.
- Maintain records according to requirements, completing all documentation in a timely manner, and in compliance with professional standards.
- Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required and 2 years of clerical experience or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Office experience with demonstrated organizational skill.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in work.
- Able to communicate effectively and respectfully with staff and clients
- Able to work within a collaborative team environment.
- Computer literate with intermediate Microsoft Office skills, basic graphic design skills preferred.
- Able to uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality regulations, agency policies and procedures, and interact in a professional manner with a diverse workforce, clients, and the public.
- Willing to accept supervision and direction.
- Experience in a mental health setting preferred.
- Become CPR and First Aid Certified.
- Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver’s license, have a good driving record, and be insurable on the agency liability policy.
- Must be able to pass Utah-DHS – Office of Licensing background screening and pre-employment drug screen.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.
- Ability to move around the facility, interacting with clients for extended periods.
- Work is generally performed in an office environment. Using a computer for extended periods of time is necessary.
