Handyperson – JLL

What this job involves:

JLL is seeking a skilled Handyperson with shipping/receiving and mailroom customer service experience to join our facilities team at client sites in Markham and Toronto, ON. This versatile role combines hands-on building maintenance and repair work with backup support for our shipping/receiving and mailroom operations. You will work with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring our client facilities remain in excellent condition while providing exceptional service. This position is essential to maintaining the functionality and appearance of our client sites while supporting seamless daily operations. What your day-to-day will look like:

• Perform general building repairs including flooring, carpet/base repairs, drywall, painting, vinyl wallpaper repairs, and ceiling tile cutting, cleaning, and replacement
• Handle door hardware, locks, and closure replacement, troubleshoot door issues, and manage workstation furniture lock replacement and key cutting
• Install whiteboards, artwork, banners, and other wall-hung items, and perform workstation furniture surface adjustments and panel replacement/repairs
• Assist with furniture rearranging and event set-ups, and supervise third-party vendors for building repairs
• Process incoming courier packages for client pick-up and receive/deliver outgoing courier packages to the dock for processing
• Provide backup support and assist with customer inquiries at the mail centre, including coverage for the Workplace Experience Coordinator
• Perform other general facility duties as assigned by the Senior Facility Manager

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in general building repairs with demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Proficiency in operating hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Proficient in Microsoft Software, including Outlook
• Ability to read and interpret CAD and blueprint drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer service capabilities
• Ability to perform job requirements with minimal supervision and complete assigned duties per agreed deadlines or established schedules

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Teknion furniture systems
• Previous experience in corporate or commercial facilities maintenance
• Familiarity with courier service operations and mailroom procedures
• Experience supervising or coordinating third-party vendors
• Background in hospitality or customer-facing facilities roles

Location: Onsite (Markham and Toronto, ON – reliable transportation required for travel between locations)

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 40 lbs., perform lifting, bending, twisting, and operate a manual pallet jack

54,978.00 – 68,000.00 CAD per year

This range represents the estimated base salary and actual compensation may differ. Final base salary is determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations. Some roles and employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, benefits, or other compensation.
