Job Expectations

Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Senior Field Change & Readiness Lead reporting to Senior Manager, Field Change & Readiness

We are looking for an experienced Senior Field Change and Readiness Lead to help our distributed field workforce adopt complex operational change safely, practically and successfully. This senior practitioner role combines portfolio-level change assurance with hands-on delivery across Field Services, regional teams, Control Tower, Service Delivery Partners and professional service groups.

You will translate enterprise and operational change into clear impacts, realistic readiness plans and practical communications for technicians, field leaders, depots and delivery partners. Success in this role requires strong judgement, excellent plain-English communication and a genuine understanding of how change lands in a blue-collar, frontline environment where safety, fatigue, workflow, tools, skills and customer outcomes matter.

A bit about your role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Field Change & Readiness, you will lead integrated change planning and assurance across a portfolio of initiatives while directly delivering complex or high-priority change. You will identify cumulative impacts and change collisions, coordinate dependencies, test whether proposed changes are workable for frontline teams and provide clear recommendations to leaders and governance forums.

In this role, you will

  • Develop and maintain integrated change roadmaps across enterprise programs, Field Services, regions, Control Tower and Service Delivery Partners.
  • Lead change impact assessments to identify affected audiences, operational impacts, readiness requirements, dependencies, change collisions and cumulative pressures.
  • Translate analysis into practical recommendations, implementation actions and decision-ready advice for senior leaders and governance forums.
  • Lead and quality assure stakeholder, readiness, communication, training and adoption plans for complex or priority initiatives.
  • Confirm that safety, fatigue, workflows, dispatch, tools, systems, skills, customer and partner impacts are addressed before implementation.
  • Manage readiness gates, milestones, risks and mitigations, escalating material barriers and supporting go-live, reinforcement and post-implementation activity.
  • Build trusted relationships with field and regional leaders, project teams, Business Readiness Leads, professional service groups and delivery partners.
  • Coach change practitioners and project managers, share practical tools and lift the consistency and quality of change delivery.
  • Measure workforce understanding, confidence, adoption, compliance and operational outcomes, using insights to improve delivery.

Communication and engagement with our field workforce

A major part of this role is making change clear, relevant and usable for a blue-collar workforce. You will develop audience and channel strategies and create or quality assure practical, plain-English materials such as leader packs, toolbox talks, shift briefings, Field Bulletins, FAQs, visual job aids and reinforcement messages.

You will work directly with technicians, field leaders, depots, Control Tower and partners to test understanding and practicality, gather feedback and resolve concerns before deployment. You will select channels that work for employees who may be mobile, geographically dispersed, shift-based or have limited access to desk-based communications.

A bit about you

  • You have significant experience leading complex, cross-functional organisational change, including hands-on delivery from impact assessment through to implementation and reinforcement.
  • You have demonstrated experience delivering change communications and engagement for distributed operational, frontline or blue-collar workforces and external partners.
  • You understand how to convert strategic or technical change into clear, practical actions for people working in operational environments.
  • You can develop integrated roadmaps, change strategies, impact assessments, readiness plans, communication plans and meaningful adoption measures.
  • You are an excellent plain-English writer and can tailor messages for technicians, frontline leaders, senior executives and delivery partners.
  • You are confident facilitating workshops, influencing senior stakeholders, coaching practitioners and resolving complex problems.
  • You bring sound judgement and can balance safety, people, operational, customer and delivery considerations.
  • Experience in telecommunications, utilities, construction, logistics, transport, manufacturing or another field-based operational environment will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

A diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, communications, human resources, organisational change or a related discipline—or equivalent professional experience—is expected. A recognised change management qualification is preferred, and communications or project delivery qualifications will be viewed favourably.

Application Process

You may find that your experience does not match every requirement listed but, if this role has piqued your interest or resonates with where you are in your career, we encourage you to apply rather than self-select out. We are interested in transferable skills and your skills and perspective could be exactly what we would value to strengthen our team.
