Description
SMX is seeking a Senior CI/CD System Administrator to take ownership of our DevOps pipeline by designing, defending, and implementing the entire enterprise Kubernetes infrastructure from the ground up. You will architect and manage multi-environment clusters from development to production, leveraging your expertise to configure and secure deployments for both GitLab and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines. In this leadership role, you will champion modern practices using Configuration as Code while mentoring and guiding a dedicated team of engineers.
This is a full-time on site position in Ft. Gordon, GA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- The CI/CD System Administrator III performs Kubernetes system administration in a DevOps Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) environment.
- The CI/CD System Administrator III designs the architecture for an enterprise Kubernetes infrastructure to support a CI/CD pipeline for GitLab CI/CD and Jenkins CI/CD.
- The CI/CD System Administrator III defends the proposed architectural design in front of the DevSecOps Review Board (security, networking, infrastructure, development, operations) and performs end-to-end implementation of the Kubernetes architecture-installation, configuration, hardening, and networking.
- The CI/CD System Administrator III designs and implements clusters, cluster segmentation, and internal/external networking for four CI/CD deployment environments: Development, Test, Staging, and Production.
- The CI/CD System Administrator III configures CI/CD deployments with ConfigMaps, Secrets, and Security Contexts.
- The CI/CD System Administrator III performs Ingress TLS Termination.
- The CI/CD System Administrator III uses Configuration as Code with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
- The CI/CD System Administrator III supervises, and mentors subordinate project and technical staff.
Required Skills, Experience & Education
- TS/SCI clearance
- Min Education: BS/BA in a STEM field; HS and 13 years of experience; Associates and 11 years of experience; A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
- DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level II.
- 5 years of position-relevant work experience.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure services to support native cloud support of DevOps tools Operational Support and DevOps technologies.
- Experience building CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of both large- and small-scale systems.
- Experience with one or more of the following scripting languages: Shell, Python, JavaScript, Typescript and PowerShell.
- Experience with Linux environments.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible or other comparable products.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Experience with software development using Java or RESTful services.
Desired Skills, Experience
- Develop and integrate highly complex DevOps pipelines, including build automation, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, security, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Experience in provisioning, installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining version control systems (Git), build tools, and continuous integration tools (CloudBees, Jenkins).
- Proficient with application build and release processes and DevOps.
