Position Overview
The Asset Protection Systems & Reporting Coordinator plays a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks related to internal and external theft, fraud, operational inefficiencies, and cash loss. This position leverages exception-based reporting tools, CCTV, and investigative resources to support enterprise-wide asset protection initiatives. The coordinator partners closely with Field Asset Protection teams and the Complex Investigation’s Team to drive actionable insights, strengthen investigative processes through exception reporting, and work to enhance reporting systems and application through a review of work items. The coordinators also work to ensure that all investigations are documented comprehensively and to company standards. Coordinators may also partner with Field Asset Protection to conduct phone interviews when applicable to assist in the investigations process.A Day in the Life
Perform daily data extractions from POS Exception Based Reporting system (Secure) and other company-based data sources (X-Admin, Engage) to identify patterns of internal theft, fraud, and operational opportunities contributing to shrink/shortage loss to the company. Utilize CCTV to review flagged transactions during POS Exception Reporting to validate internal investigations or operational opportunities. Engage in broad investigative initiatives at the direction of supervisors and managers as investigation projects are initiated to include externally driven loss and fraud.
Contribute to the continued enhancement of the POS Exception Based Reporting system (Secure) to increase investigation quality and output at the corporate and field levels. Build and maintain partnership with AP field peers pertaining to the Secure platform and internal investigations. Provide training for AP field partners on the utilization and functionality of the POS Exception Based Reporting System. Contribute to expansion of Secure to provide operational exception insights to Store Operations partners.
Execute review of Finance Sales Audit bank reconciled cash reporting to identify and resolve cash shortages relating to internal theft, operational errors, and deposits errors.
Build case documentation and track case progression in partnership with Field Asset Protection (DAPMs/ RAPMs) within Be In-Stores case management platform. Distribute reporting to Field Partners on current open/active investigations. Assist with investigative follow-up and review approved internal investigation for quality assurance to ensure company standards are met for internal cases.
You'll Come With
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred (Criminal Justice, Finance, or Business). Candidates who do not have a degree must demonstrate a high level of expertise and proficiency in the desired skills and abilities.
Experience: Retail point of sale experience preferred. Retail investigation experience and/or exception-based reporting familiarity ideal. Wicklander Certified preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Positive and proactive mindset suited for self-driven work environment.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills set.
Ability to operate in a collaborative team environment.
Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in and knowledge of computer software including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Proficient ability to navigate and operate multiple software platforms responsible for supporting investigation initiatives, specifically: exception-based reporting (Secure) and case management systems (Think LP), and security infrastructure platforms (CCTV).
Ability to communicate with associates at all levels in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities.
Capable of determining when escalation to a Supervisor/Manager is needed or when activation of elevated response protocol is necessary.
Handles sensitive and confidential information in accordance with company guidelines.
Physical Requirements:
Candidate should be prepared to operate in an office setting with extended periods of sitting at a personal work space.
