Job Summary

The Cardiovascular Quality Coordinator supports cardiovascular quality, accreditation, and performance improvement activities across the continuum of care. Serves as a subject matter resource and coordinates initiatives designed to promote regulatory compliance, evidence-based clinical practice, effective data collection, and improved cardiovascular patient outcomes. Collaborates with physicians, nursing leaders, clinical departments, cardiovascular registry teams, EMS providers, and other stakeholders to evaluate performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support implementation of sustainable quality initiatives.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Georgia or a compact RN license in good standing. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).

  • Minimum Experience:  Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible clinical nursing experience in cardiovascular, critical care, emergency, or other related acute care settings.

  • Preferred Licensure or other certifications:

  • Preferred Educational Requirements: Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Quality Management, or a related field.

  • Preferred Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare quality, performance improvement, accreditation, regulatory compliance, clinical outcomes management, or related quality initiatives preferred. Experience with cardiovascular registries, data abstraction, clinical data analysis, and performance measurement preferred. Experience working collaboratively with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and healthcare leaders to drive quality improvement initiatives preferred.

  • Other: 

Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of cardiovascular clinical practice standards, evidence-based care guidelines, and quality improvement methodologies.

  • Working knowledge of accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and performance improvement processes.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret clinical and operational data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.

  • Effective project management, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and electronic health record systems; Epic experience preferred.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates cardiovascular quality, accreditation, and performance improvement activities across the continuum of care to support compliance with regulatory requirements, evidence-based practice standards, and organizational quality goals.

  • Collects, validates, analyzes, and reports cardiovascular quality and outcome data, including registry, accreditation, and performance improvement metrics, to identify trends, variances, opportunities for improvement, and progress toward established benchmarks.

  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing leaders, EMS providers, registry teams, and interdisciplinary stakeholders to support achievement of cardiovascular quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient outcomes.

  • Supports the development, implementation, evaluation, and annual review of cardiovascular clinical protocols, care pathways, policies, and best practices to promote evidence-based care and continuous improvement.

  • Monitors adherence to clinical standards, protocols, and quality initiatives, coordinates follow-up activities, and facilitates action planning to address identified opportunities and barriers to performance improvement.

  • Coordinates and supports cardiovascular quality committees, performance improvement meetings, accreditation activities, and service line initiatives, including preparation of reports, presentations, and performance data.

  • Develops and delivers educational programs, presentations, and performance improvement resources to promote competency, quality outcomes, disease prevention, and awareness among healthcare providers and community stakeholders.

  • Serves as a liaison and subject matter resource for cardiovascular quality and performance improvement initiatives, fostering communication, collaboration, and integration among clinical departments, physician practices, EMS agencies, and service line leadership.

  • Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives and strategic priorities designed to improve patient outcomes, operational effectiveness, and organizational performance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
