Primary Purpose

To support the Head of Regulatory Reporting in ensuring the Bank's compliance with regulatory reporting obligations by delivering accurate, complete, timely, and reliable submissions to regulatory authorities, including the Prudential Authority and Corporation for Deposit Insurance. The role is responsible for interpreting regulatory requirements, monitoring regulatory developments, and driving the implementation of sustainable reporting solutions and process enhancements. Through collaboration with key stakeholders across the Bank, the Regulatory Manager contributes to maintaining a robust regulatory reporting framework, ensuring ongoing compliance with the Banks Act, regulations, and evolving prudential standards while supporting the optimisation and strategic sustainability of the regulatory reporting operating model

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Risk, Finance or Quantitative qualification, supplemented with professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, FRM, PRMIA, FIA/FASSA), with a strong analytical foundation

Minimum Experience

  • 5 - 8 years' experience in regulatory reporting, risk management, compliance, finance, or prudential regulation within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven experience interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements, including Banks Act regulations and Prudential Authority directives.
  • Experience engaging with regulators and preparing regulatory submissions.
  • 3 years' management or leadership experience.
  • Experience in regulatory change projects, data governance, and regulatory reporting automation will be advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of accurate, complete, and timely regulatory returns to the Prudential Authority, Corporation for Deposit Insurance, and other regulatory bodies in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements
  • Identification and implementation of reporting improvements resulting in accurate capital calculations and RWA optimisation
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the Banks Act, Regulations Relating to Banks, prudential standards, and other applicable regulatory requirements by maintaining a robust regulatory reporting and control framework
  • Conduct and / or facilitate timely assessment and response to regulatory bodies and all queries, information requests, as well as acknowledgement of circulars, directives, etc
  • Effective coordination of and response to queries, information requests and reporting matters raised by external auditors as part of the mandatory regulation 46 engagement.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Credit, Risk, Data, Technology, and other business units to ensure the availability, integrity, and accuracy of information required for regulatory reporting and compliance obligations.
  • Formulate and submit high-quality artefacts and analysis as required for input on Board and Executive committees
  • Support engagement with regulatory authorities by coordinating responses to regulatory queries, requests, inspections, and reviews, while maintaining professional and constructive relationships with regulators
  • Drive the continuous improvement of regulatory reporting processes, systems, controls, and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and sustainability of the regulatory reporting operating model.
  • Uphold governance protocol by maintaining an audit trail of all review activities, reconciliations, signoffs, adjustments, etc.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Quantitative Risk and Model Oversight function regarding Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and Pillar II capital modelling
  • Coordinate the timely and accurate preparation and approval of the Pillar III public disclosures for publication
  • Manage and assist with regulatory approvals (such as concentration risk approval, Section 52 acquisition approvals, etc.)
  • Coordinate the production of high-quality meeting packs pertaining to engagements with regulatory bodies (such as on-sites by the Prudential Authority) in strict alignment with the set agendas, or other ad-hoc information requests
  • Ensure timely and accurate calculation and payment of the banking license fee
  • Responsible for the execution of strategically sustainable action plans, together with the coordination of the timely implementation thereof, towards remediating matters reported on by the Bank’s external auditors, as well as compliance and internal audit functions
