Lead Accounting
Role Summary
The Team Lead - India Accounts will be responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring statutory compliance, driving month-end close activities, and leading a team of accounting professionals. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a continuous improvement mindset to support business objectives and maintain a robust control environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
• Lead and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Monitor general ledger activities and resolve accounting issues on a timely basis.
• Prepare management reports and financial analysis.
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and internal auditors.
• Support tax assessments, audits, and regulatory filings.
• Monitor changes in accounting and tax regulations and assess business impact.
Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants.
• Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
• Conduct regular coaching and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
Process Improvement & Controls
• Drive process standardization, automation, and efficiency initiatives.
• Strengthen internal controls and compliance framework.
• Identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Support implementation of new systems, tools, and process enhancements.
Business Partnering
• Collaborate with Procurement, HR, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and business stakeholders.
• Provide accounting guidance for business transactions and projects.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Audit & Risk Management
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Ensure adequate documentation and audit readiness.
• Support risk assessments and remediation activities.
• Monitor compliance with company policies and SOX/internal control requirements.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
• CA / CMA / MBA Finance preferred.
• 8-10 years of experience in accounting and finance operations.
• Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance.
• Experience in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Dynamics.
