Job Description​

The Opportunity:

Saint Luke’s South Hospital in Overland Park, Kansas is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician. You will have the opportunity to expand your skill set, work in a challenging fast-paced environment, and be supported through continuous learning and professional development.

Shift Details:

Monday-Friday

Evening Shift

Weekend Rotation and Holiday Call Required.

The Work:

· Responsible for the processing, sterilization, and documentation related to sterility of instruments used in the surgery department and on-site/off-site clinics in accordance with AORN and AAMI standards.

· Decontaminates and assembles instrument sets and surgery trays using count sheets. Verifies proper function and integrity of instruments. Labels instruments correctly and returns them to their proper location.

· Communicates effectively and positively with team members and surgery staff.

· Moves with a sense of urgency when needed.

· Efficient in the quality execution of instrumentation that is directly related to patient safety and department efficiencies.

· Familiar with AAMI Joint Commission and APIC standards related to infection control.

Cert Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
