Summary
In this role, you will work as a BI Architect within our Nordic Business Intelligence department, collaborating closely with BI Developers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Analysts and business stakeholders across Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway.Your primary focus will be to define, design and govern scalable data platform and analytics architecture that supports Lowell’s Nordic data needs. You will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our BI landscape, ensuring that solutions are secure, sustainable, well-documented and aligned with both business goals and enterprise architecture principles.
You will be responsible for translating business and platform requirements into robust architectural designs, including high-level and low-level solution documentation, data management principles, data security and access control. A key part of the role is to ensure that our data landscape supports scalability, performance, reliability and long-term maintainability.
Job Description
The role requires a strong understanding of modern data platforms, including Azure, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake and Fabric. You will provide architectural guidance across ingestion, modelling, reporting and delivery layers, ensuring that solutions follow agreed architectural standards.
You will also act as a technical owner and governance lead for key BI platform capabilities, including access models, infrastructure considerations, data protection, orchestration patterns and platform administration. This includes working closely with Infrastructure, InfoSec, IT, BAU teams and the wider data teams to ensure that solutions are compliant, secure and operationally supportable.
Own and guide BI platform design, architecture standards and solution patterns.
Ensure BI solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, cost-efficient and aligned with Lowell’s business goals.
Define and maintain architecture documentation and standards.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring and architectural guidance to BI teams.
Drive data governance, access management, data quality, lineage and ownership practices across BI platforms.
Ensure GDPR, security and compliance requirements are embedded in BI platforms.
Lead architecture decisions related to data protection, monitoring and platform security and ensure these consistently applied.
What makes you a great fit:
The ideal candidate holds a degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of working experience within Business Intelligence or Data Management and Platform Architecture
Strong understanding of BI architecture, data warehousing and modern analytics platforms.
Ability to understand complex database structures and hands-on experience on relevant technologies
Knowledge in Microsoft Azure in general and specifically in Databricks, Synapsis, Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory and related infrastructure and backend services such as networking, storage, computing and platform administration.
Possess excellent English skills both orally and in writing, as well as profound communication skills across organizational levels and cultures.
