Description
Accepting a role with Elders means you will be joining the family backed by a team ready to support and grow your career. Be part of a culture that has been in the making for more than 185 years, a culture so strong it is almost tangible. Much like the farmers and communities we work with, you will experience, passion, dedication and resilience across all parts of the business. With such an iconic, essential business in the Australian landscape we are confident that you too will be proud to grow your career at Elders and wear the pink shirt.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Livestock Production Advisor to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine your technical livestock expertise with commercial acumen, partnering with producers to improve on-farm productivity and profitability while supporting branches to achieve sales, earnings and operational performance targets. As a trusted industry specialist, you'll build strong client relationships, provide expert livestock production advice, mentor team members and graduates, and contribute to the ongoing success of the Elders network. We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional who can build on existing client relationships, identify growth opportunities, and make a positive impact from the outset.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing trusted product, technical and farm management advice.
- Drive sales growth through proactive account management, business development and delivery of tailored solutions.
- Develop and implement client management plans to identify opportunities, strengthen customer engagement and grow market share.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure timely follow-up on recommendations, sales opportunities and customer enquiries.
- Promote the full range of products and services, identifying opportunities for cross-selling and referrals across the business.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, inventory management and other commercial activities to achieve business objectives.
- Provide specialist technical expertise and mentoring to colleagues, supporting capability development across the team.
- Coordinate and participate in field days, demonstrations, farmer group meetings and industry training activities to support client outcomes and business growth.
About you
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification, current driver's licence, and Q-Fever vaccination (or proof of immunity).
- 3-5 years' experience in agriculture - specifically in livestock production advice/sales.
- Proven experience in sales, with a track record of achieving targets and identifying growth opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering tailored advice and exceptional customer service.
- Strong livestock production knowledge and a genuine passion for helping primary producers achieve their business goals.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and relationship management skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Sound understanding of the agricultural industry, seasonal influences, and rural products and services; a forklift licence will be highly regarded.
