Job Description:
This job is responsible for assisting with moderate to more complex tasks related to the credit process. Key responsibilities include assisting risk activities including, monitoring financial reporting, coordinating or resolving issues related to onboarding of clients as the first point of engagement for client teams, and supporting coordination of a systematic execution of the credit process in partnership with managers, specified teams, and operations. Job expectations include working with other Enterprise Credit associates and staying current on the bank's policies, procedures, and systems.

The Credit Support Associate II (CSA) is an integral role within the end-to-end credit management process for GWIM Credit Services. Primary liaison between Client Partners, Private Wealth Client management teams, and others supporting GWIM. Through extensive interaction with the sales offices and credit teams; the CSA will monitor and report on past due credit facilities. Monitors maturing loans reports and ensuring renewing facilities are entered into the underwriting process in a timely manner.

Responsibilities: 

  • Engages with team members to support partnership with teams to manage the bank's portfolio via monitoring financial package collection, maturities, annual reviews/financial analysis summaries, past due payments, and failed covenants

  • Assists in resolving client needs for more complex issues such as ordering pay-off letters

  • Assists in risk management by clearing collateral exceptions to reduce the bank's legally binding exposure

  • Coordinates activities for accurate and timely deals through engaging outside counsel to prepare loan documentation, assisting with the completion of pre-close checklists, and connecting with fulfillment to book facilities in the system of record

  • Actively supports the Merrill Senior Credit Advisor (SCA) / Credit Advisor (CA) role in the end-to-end credit management process by delivering consistently high-quality banking and credit related services to Merrill Lynch clients

  • Primary responsibility supporting all client interfacing activities by monitoring and executing all tasks required to fulfill the client service plan and meet day-to-day credit inquiries from the clients

  • Manages the execution of client service activities for loans including account inquiry, fulfillment needs and maintenance oversight, in coordination with Merrill SCA / CA

  • Act as a "triage" point for Merrill SCA / CA and GWIM Credit Delivery in the management of collecting financial documents, resolving failed covenants, collecting past due payments, fulfillment of Service Requests and timely execution of the Loan Renewal Process

  • Partners with Merrill Portfolio Managers for effective and timely issue resolution; ensuring transactions are completed within audit and compliance standards while handling client inquiries and coordinating with Merrill Credit Advisors to deliver an integrated service to the clients

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 - 5 years of experience with a financial institution focusing on client service for loans, preferably in the High-Net-Worth space

  • Solid understanding of banking and lending products, services and processes

  • Requires a working knowledge of the Bank's credit policies, procedures, and guidelines

  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks while delivering high quality results

  • Leadership, initiative, self-motivation and resourcefulness 

  • Demonstrated experience in Data Management, Reporting Management and Portfolio Management (Added as removed from skills)

  • Requires PC proficiency including Excel, Word, Outlook and other applications

  • Requires knowledge of Global Monitoring System (GMS) and Global Underwriting System (GUS), LIQ, BOSS, and other GWIM Banking systems.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Economics is preferred 

  • System knowledge of LIQ, PACE, GMS, GUS, EDR, Genesis, Image Trust, Navigator, SharePoint, Credit Toolkit, Credit Sync, KYC, Adobe Acrobat Standard/Professional
