Data Migration Consultant

Our client is seeking an experienced Data Migration Consultant to work with their teams to bring clients live on enterprise cloud software for investment management. This role requires strong Python and SQL skills.

About the Role & Platform

Our client's platform is a cloud-native, AI-first system built on a unified data model. Data migration is central to every onboarding: converting portfolio, accounting, and performance data from legacy systems into the platform's consolidated model. The most transferable skill is comfort reconciling data models, security masters, and transaction feeds across systems that were never designed to talk to each other. Candidates who have migrated data across investment and wealth platforms are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Contribute to data conversion projects from inception to completion, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility
• Collaborate with the implementation team and clients to gather requirements and understand client management, portfolio accounting, and performance data needs
• Perform data mapping, transformation, and cleansing activities to meet project specifications
• Validate, troubleshoot, and resolve variances between source data and system generated data during the conversion process, providing technical support and guidance to clients
• Coordinate closely with project managers and functional consultants to identify and account for dependencies across the broader onboarding process
• Partner with the data science team to improve inefficient processes, enhance system automation, and improve accuracy
• Deliver accurate and timely responses to clients and the implementation team, verbal and written, related to data migration tasks
• Adhere to information security policies

Requirements

• Strong interest in data conversion projects, specifically within the investment management industry
• Strong technical skills with experience in SQL, database management systems such as MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, or Postgres, and data integration or ETL tools
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency
• Hands-on experience working with similar systems such as Addepar, Envestnet, SS&C Technologies, Advent, Clearwater, BNY Eagle, or SEI
• Strong knowledge of financial instrument types, the asset management industry, and data related workflows such as reconciliation, data flows, and end user reporting
• In-depth knowledge of portfolio accounting systems and performance measurement methodologies, including financial transaction types and asset classes such as equities, fixed income, and FX
• Proven track record managing complex data projects from planning through execution
• 10-12+ years of relevant experience (Manager / Snr Manager level)
