Felix Commonwealth Virtual School is a free, Massachusetts public virtual school dedicated to personalized, mastery-based learning. In partnership with ASU Preparatory Global Academy, Felix Commonwealth Virtual School seeks innovative and student-centered educators to serve as Guides (Teachers) in a personalized, mastery-based learning environment. The school’s instructional model draws on practices used by Arizona State University’s Khan World School and combines high-quality digital curriculum, individualized learning plans, and strong mentorship relationships. -Subject-area instructional resource, providing academic instruction, tutoring, and expertise to students across the school within the Guide’s area of certification or specialization

Guides foster student agency, support mastery-based learning, and help students develop the skills needed for success in both virtual and in-person learning environments.

BENEFITS:

  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage.

  • Enrollment in a 401(k) retirement plan through John Hancock.

  • Access to low-cost tuition opportunities at Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and University of Arizona.

    • Demonstrated experience with technology enabled learning environments, competency based education, and using innovative classroom strategies.

    • Experience with entrepreneurial or school start-up initiatives, preferred.

    • Experience adapting curriculum, mastery-based teaching and project based learning, and implementing innovative, personalized teaching strategies.

    • Commitment to build strong relationships with families, create personalized student-centered learning, and be a strong mentor for students.

  • Satisfactory criminal background check and a clear fingerprint-supported criminal record check from the State of Massachusetts Department of Criminal Justice Information Services (DCJIS).

    • Can be obtained post-offer of employment if candidate currently does not hold said clearance
