The Manager, Operational Excellence supports the Head of Operational Excellence in strengthening operational discipline, simplifying processes, and improving execution across the North America region. This role delivers analytical, project management, and governance support to enhance decision‑making quality, cross‑functional alignment, and execution speed.

Position Location:

This position will be located at the Princeton, NJ US Headquarters site.

Our Sandoz flexible hybrid working approach allows US office-based employees to work up to 50% of their monthly workday remotely. This role will not have the ability to be located remotely.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.  U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available for this role now or in the future.

As we evolve, strengthening operational discipline and simplifying how we work is essential. The Manager, Operational Excellence will play a pivotal supporting role in enabling operational efficiency, strengthening governance, and ensuring disciplined execution across functions.

Major Accountabilities / Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support assessments of end‑to‑end North America processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.

  • Contribute to simplification and standardization efforts that reduce operational complexity and improve execution speed.

  • Support simple, fit‑for‑purpose governance routines (e.g., calendars, dashboards, templates, action logs) to strengthen clarity and execution discipline.

  • Coordinate cross‑functional inputs for operational reviews, ensuring timely preparation and alignment across stakeholders.

  • Track initiative progress, risks, and follow‑ups to drive accountability and ensure closure of action items.

  • Develop and maintain performance tracking tools, scorecards, and reports to measure operational excellence outcomes.

  • Prepare clear, concise, executive‑ready materials to support decision‑making in governance and leadership forums.

  • Support high‑priority, cross‑functional projects aligned with company strategy and goals - including cost optimization, digital enablement, data transparency, and growth acceleration - by providing analysis, coordination, and execution support.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, or a related field.

  • 3–6 years of experience in operational excellence, continuous improvement, business analysis, consulting, PMO, or similar roles.

  • Experience supporting cross‑functional transformation, PMO, or change‑management activities.

  • Experience conducting process mapping, root‑cause analysis, and structured problem‑solving using data‑driven approaches.

  • Experience building dashboards, trackers, scorecards, or KPI reports to support operational visibility and performance management.

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, capable of managing multiple workstreams and deadlines in a matrixed environment.

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, executive‑ready communication for leadership forums.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in pharmaceuticals, life sciences, healthcare, or regulated industries.

  • Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., Green Belt) is a plus.

  • Experience with digital workflow, process‑mapping, or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Signavio, Smartsheet, Visio, Miro, BPMN).

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $117,500 - 218,300 USD/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/26 through 12/31/26, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period.  Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. 

On September 30, 2021, Sandoz entered into a 5-year Corporate Integrity Agreement. Certain positions will have responsibilities to support the execution and adherence to CIA obligations, CIA-related deliverables, and any relevant audit, monitoring or Independent Review Organization (IRO) remediation.
