Core Responsibilities:
- Operate pumps, valves, conveyors, and related equipment safely and efficiently to transfer asphalt and other materials.
- Perform loading and unloading operations for barges, railcars, and trucks with precision and care.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on terminal equipment to ensure operational reliability.
- Monitor product levels, pressures, and temperatures, ensuring proper handling and compliance with quality standards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with terminal leadership, maintenance teams, and external partners to support smooth terminal operations.
- Participate actively in emergency response drills and follow established procedures during incidents.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in operating industrial equipment such as pumps, valves, and conveyors.
- Strong attention to detail in monitoring and maintaining product quality and equipment performance.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations relevant to asphalt terminal operations.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with diverse teams and external partners.
- Capability to respond effectively in emergency situations following established protocols.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in terminal operations, industrial facilities, or related fields preferred.
- Ability to obtain or currently possess a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card.
- Strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with handling bulk liquids and dry materials is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and basic welding experience.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime, and weekends if needed.
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Able to climb stairs/ladders up to 24 ft.
- Able to work within enclosed or tight spaces.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
