Shipping Assistant Administrator

Join a Dynamic Manufacturing Team 

An established manufacturing business is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Shipping Assistant Administrator to support its shipping and logistics operations.

This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, coordinating multiple activities, and ensuring that shipping documentation and processes are completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure raw materials and stock from local and international suppliers.
  • Process import and export documentation accurately and timeously.
  • Liaise with local and international service providers, suppliers, freight forwarders, and banks.
  • Arrange customs and excise documentation where required.
  • Manage shipping documentation and monitor deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and purchasing records.
  • Coordinate logistics activities to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Provide administrative support to the procurement and logistics functions.
  • Assist with supplier communication and follow up on outstanding orders.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and relevant import/export regulations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) including Mathematics (No Maths Lit).
  • 2–3 years' experience in a Shipping Administration or Logistics Administration role.
  • Strong knowledge of import and export documentation and shipping processes.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • High level of accuracy with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with ERP systems would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level or above.
