Consolidated Multi-Entity Financial Reporting

Engineers and reviews comprehensive monthly consolidated financial statements across all corporate parent, subsidiary, and holding entities, ensuring the flawless elimination of intercompany management fees, equipment lease revenues, intercompany loans, and cross-entity AR/AP.

Controls and drives the monthly closing workpaper and notes tracker, providing a granular, entity-by-entity analytical audit of open ledgers, adjusting entries, and complex policy decisions.

Audits the master intercompany reconciliation matrix to guarantee that all cross-portfolio liabilities balance out completely and settle within strict 30-day corporate boundaries.

Evaluates and signs off on all high-level journal entries, period-end reclassifications, and capitalization vs. expense treatments, particularly regarding tax positions on active builds.
Construction, Development & Joint-Venture Accounting

Commands Construction-in-Progress (CIP) job-cost accounting across active townhome and commercial developments, tracking expenditures by job code and syncing directly with the VP of Construction.

Compiles, verifies, and submits comprehensive lender construction draw packages, aggregating complex subcontractor invoices, lien waivers, and supporting documentation under tight institutional deadlines.

Formulates and tracks development fees charged to partnership funds, protecting a clear, audit-ready data trail of the mathematical methodologies utilized for revenue recognition.

Maintains dynamic equity tracking frameworks, cap tables, and distribution schedules across multiple GP/LP partnership frameworks, evaluating partner tax liabilities relative to distribution timing.

Backs project disposition and refinance events by engineering precise equity waterfall calculation structures and publishing return-of-capital data across investor portals like Agora.
Personnel Leadership & External Advisory Sync

Directs, reviews, and mentors the internal accounting team (currently two staff accountants), setting high execution benchmarks and building a corporate culture of independent data verification.

Standardizes and continuously scales the month-end closing checklist mechanism as new physical assets or joint ventures enter the corporate holding tree.

Authorizes and monitors internal banking protocols, wire transfers, ACH parameters, and centralized executive cash controls.

Serves as the authoritative primary point of contact for the external CPA firm, preparing sophisticated tax workpapers, maintaining accurate multi-asset depreciation schedules (equipment, real property, leasehold modifications), and driving year-end planning strategies.

Financial Controller Tenure: 5+ years of verified professional experience operating as a Corporate Controller, Accounting Director, or Senior Real Estate Accountant.

Real Estate Sector Domain Depth: Deep, expert-level familiarity with US GAAP specifically applied to real estate development, including cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) unit allocations, CIP accounting rules, and specialized capitalization limits.

Partnership Structure Fluency: Hands-on experience directing GP/LP partnership accounting models, equity tracking metrics, tiered cash distribution mechanics, and waterfall structures.

Software Tooling Mastery: Advanced, non-negotiable proficiency navigating Yardi accounting software. The entire real estate ecosystem runs natively in Yardi; deep system exposure is mandatory.
