About the Role

The Quality Assurance Manager provides day-to-day leadership, coaching, and development to the Quality team, ensuring effective oversight of product and process quality across cannabis processing and edible-product operations, including cultivation, harvesting, packaging, and externally sourced materials and finished goods.

The role is responsible for maintaining compliance with Health Canada regulations, Good Production Practices (GPP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and SNDL quality standards, while potentially serving as the designated Quality Assurance Person (QAP) or Alternate Quality Assurance Person (AQAP).

Working collaboratively with site and corporate Quality teams, the Quality Assurance Manager drives continuous improvement, strengthens quality culture, and supports the harmonization of procedures, systems, and best practices across the London and Bolton sites and the broader SNDL network.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, consistency, and operational performance
  • Establish and maintain quality standards for raw materials, in-process controls, finished product disposition, and rework
  • Oversee deviation investigations, CAPAs, complaints, and internal audits to ensure timely resolution and compliance
  • Lead quality risk management activities for cannabis processing and edible-product operations, including hazard analysis and the identification, implementation, and verification of critical control measures.
  • Monitor and report on quality performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, commercial, and innovation to support product development and process optimization
  • Support vendor quality activities in partnership with the B2B Quality Manager, including qualification, monitoring, and issue resolution
  • Champion the use of eQMS and other quality tools to strengthen documentation, traceability, and compliance
  • Support training programs to ensure employees understand and meet quality and regulatory expectations
  • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and development of Quality team members

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role within a regulated industry
  • Post-secondary education in science, food science, quality, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Practical knowledge of cannabis processing and edible-product manufacturing operations, including ingredient and allergen controls, sanitation, in-process controls, packaging, and finished-product quality.
  • Must be familiar with the Cannabis Act, regulations, guidance and policies
  • Familiarity with approved pesticides and authorized treatment methods for cannabis production
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements in a production environment
  • Experience with inventory control systems and quality management systems (e.g., eQMS)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing a Quality team in a regulated production environment, including setting clear expectations, building accountability, managing performance, and developing team capability.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective project management capabilities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to quality and teamwork
