CurifyLabs is transforming pharmaceutical compounding with automated compounding system solutions. By automating core tasks, enhancing digital traceability and improving patient safety, our technology helps pharmacies and hospitals reach higher efficiency and quality. As we grow, we are seeking a passionate R&D Engineer to join our young, multinational team and develop the next generation of our compounding products.
R&D Engineer (Robotics & Automation)
We are looking for an R&D Engineer with a strong mechanical/mechatronics engineering background to develop new products for our Compounding System Solution. The role covers the full development cycle from concept and prototyping to verification and transfer to production, in close cooperation with the industrial design, hardware, software and production teams. The position is full-time and on-site in Salmisaari, Helsinki, with limited remote work due to its hands-on nature.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop new products, features and accessories for the PharmaPrinter and Compounding System Solution, from concept to production-ready design
· Generate new technical ideas and turn them into working concepts
· Create mechanical designs and detailed drawings in SolidWorks
· Integrate sensors, actuators and measurement solutions into products and test setups
· Build prototypes, plan and run verification tests and analyse the results
· Select manufacturing methods and work with suppliers to achieve manufacturable, cost-effective designs
· Manage design data and engineering changes in PDM/PLM according to our ISO 13485 quality system
· Take part in assembly, production and field troubleshooting when needed
· Responsibilities can be adjusted to the candidate’s strengths and career goals
What will you need to be successful in this role?
· Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field
· Strong mechanical engineering skills with a deep, practical understanding of tolerances, fits and standards
· Good knowledge of manufacturing methods such as CNC machining, sheet metal and surface treatments; plastics/moulding experience is a plus
· Experience with measurement methods and sensorics in both design and testing
· Knowledge of off-the-shelf components and relevant precision mechanics suppliers
· Solid experience with a high-end 3D CAD system (we use SolidWorks) and PDM
· Proven product development experience, ideally in a regulated environment (ISO 13485 or similar)
· Innovative mindset, strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
· Hands-on, flexible team player who thrives in a fast-paced startup
· Open communication and willingness to share knowledge, progress and problems early
· Fluent English (our company language); Finnish is a plus for working with local suppliers
