Job Summary

As the ID&C Enterprise Project Engineer, you will serve as the strategic bridge between engineering execution and project management. In this vital advisory role, you will partner directly with the ID&C Enterprise Supervisors and Project Managers to keep complex technical priorities on track. You will act as a high-level facilitator and coordinator—interpreting complex schedules, identifying critical path roadblocks, and providing the decision-quality scheduling data necessary to optimize engineering resources in a dynamic, mission-driven ground test environment.

AEDC’s mission is to conduct developmental tests and evaluation for the Nation through modeling, simulation, and ground and flight tests. Execution of the mission requires a large team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals from multiple technical disciplines to effectively accomplish the objectives of our test customers.

Job Duties:

  • Priority and Schedule Coordination: Maintain and optimize the master schedule for the ID&C Enterprise team. Partner with ID&C Enterprise Supervisors to ensure engineering resources are aligned against competing project timelines.
  • Strategic Advisory Support: Act as the primary schedule advisor to ID&C Enterprise Supervisors and Project Managers. Identify potential resource bottlenecks, critical-path conflicts, and operational risks before they affect test or project schedules.
  • Operational Liaison: Serve as the central communication link between the ID&C Enterprise engineering team, DoD Test Squadrons, external customers, and contractor organizations to keep project milestones aligned.
  • Process Mentorship: Train, guide, and advise engineering and project teams on schedule compliance, tracking metrics, and planning best practices. Support process-improvement efforts, including development, documentation, implementation, and continuous improvement of scheduling, coordination, and reporting processes.
  • Performance Tracking: Develop, analyze, and present schedule health metrics, estimates, project risks, scope-of-work documentation, and milestone status reports to leadership and project teams to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Wear company-issued personal protective equipment in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 2 years supporting project scheduling and coordination for engineering, test operations, industrial operations, or other technical projects, including tracking milestones, dependencies, resource needs, schedule status, and project risks; coordinating work among technical stakeholders; and communicating schedule conflicts or constraints.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance and maintain authorized user access to the AEDC local area network.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal government contract compliance requirements and the necessity to access secure federal databases and networks on Arnold Air Force Base.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in project scheduling, coordination, or advisory roles within a ground test operations environment.
  • Deep familiarity with critical path methodology and agile work practices.
  • Systems engineering or process engineering experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salaries
  • Continuing education assistance
  • Multiple healthcare benefits packages
  • 401K with employer matching
  • Paid time off (PTO) along with a federally recognized holiday schedule
