Compensation Intern

The JM Family College Internship Program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team’s success, learn about JM Family’s companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events and much more.

The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time during the Summer Internship Program (May 24th, 2027 - July 30th, 2027).

Interns will engage in meaningful work and gain insights into specific projects or tasks, providing hands-on experience, and contributing to various department initiatives. They will learn about JM Family’s culture including our core values: Consideration, Cooperation, Communication, Innovation and Accountability. As a Compensation Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting compensation programs and data initiatives that help maintain accurate and reliable job and market information. This role will provide exposure to compensation practices, HR systems, data management, and emerging AI technologies while contributing to initiatives that support equitable and competitive compensation practices.

Responsibilities:

• Support annual compensation survey activities by maintaining accurate job and market data within Payfactors.
• Assist with data cleaning initiatives, including identifying outdated information, addressing inaccurate job matches, and helping ensure market jobs are appropriately leveled to internal roles.
• Support the maintenance and accuracy of internal role profiles within Workday.
• Assist with analyzing and managing compensation-related data to improve overall data quality and reliability.
• Explore opportunities to integrate AI into compensation processes, with a focus on supporting data cleanup and maintenance within Payfactors and Workday.

Qualifications:

• This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements depending on the business need.
• The ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or other degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university, with a focus in a relevant field. Candidates in related fields will also be considered. Must have completed at least one semester of coursework.
• Relevant fields of study may include Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills with an interest in working with data.
• Knowledge or experience related to data analysis and data management.
• Interest in AI and its potential applications within compensation and data management processes.
