Transmission, Distribution and Renewable Energies – Engineering Services Canada. The Transmission, Distribution and Renewable Energies group specializes in the efficient and cost-effective execution of electricity transmission and distribution (T&D) projects—from project conceptualization to engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Your Role

• Establish the design criteria related to the assigned discipline based on specified contractual requirements and in accordance with engineering best practices.

• Carry out the design of structural works, including buildings, structures, and foundations.

• Prepare the required engineering calculations, have them checked, approved and archived in accordance with current quality system procedures.

• Write technical specifications and oversee the preparation of drawings.

• Prepare proposals, feasibility studies, preliminary designs, engineering estimates, and schedules.

• Collaborate with the project team across all project phases, from preliminary design to detailed design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

• Perform conceptual reviews and peer reviews of engineering designs, drawings, and reports.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in computer‑aided design of civil and structural engineering infrastructure.

• Member in good standing of the Order of Engineers of Quebec, or of Ontario, or British Columbia.

• Industry professional with experience in power transmission and distribution facilities, renewable energy plants, and heavy industrial installations.

• Extensive experience in the design of buildings, steel structures, concrete, masonry, architectural elements, and on-site civil works, in compliance with Canadian and U.S. design codes and standards, including analysis and design of foundations for heavy rotating equipment.

• Strong computer skills and proficiency with STAAD.Pro, DYNA6.1, PCA software and MS Office suite.

• Proficiency in Catia or Revit is considered an asset.

• Proficiency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of French is considered an asset.

• Experience in writing clear and comprehensive reports, technical notes and client presentations.

*This position requires proficiency in a language other than French, specifically English, since the clients and suppliers you will interact with are primarily English-speaking and located outside Quebec.
