Description
About Asha Health
Asha Health is building an AI OS for outpatient care. It’s the year of AI agents, and startups selling AI agents to healthcare organizations will do great in this wave. While we’re rooting for them, we’re building what comes after. We're backed by Y Combinator, General Catalyst, 186 Ventures, Reach Capital and many more. We raised an oversubscribed seed round from some of the best investors in Silicon Valley. Our team includes AI product leaders from companies like Google, physician executives from major health systems, and more.
About the Role
We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our currently (and hopefully always) small engineering team.
Is this role for you?
- You’d be engineer #5. You’d work directly with our CTO. Lot of ownership; potentially rapid career growth. Think you could be our Tibo?
- The math: significantly above market pay + equity.
- Passion matters. Healthcare isn’t just inefficient; it’s a catastrophe. Think you got a bone to pick with it?
- We're building a moonshot. Most AI healthcare startups are taking strategic, measured approaches. We’re rooting for them and think they'll do great in this wave. We're building what comes after. Does that scare you or excite you?
- At Asha, engineering is the #1 lever. We can’t keep up with sales, and we have contracted ARR piling up. Unlike most of the healthcare market, engineering (not sales/gtm) is the biggest lever to pull.
This might be you if:
- You're a builder at your core: a strong engineer who can understand users, make product decisions, and ship without needing a PM to define every step.
- You know you're good—and want significantly more ownership than your current role gives you.
- You're excited by healthcare, rapid career growth, or ideally both.
Requirements
- Graduated from top engineering university (ex: IIT).
- 3+ years of industry experience after graduation.
- Strong experience developing AI agents and LLM-powered tools.
- Strong understanding of how to make AI applications performant and reliable (fine tuning, RLHF, distillation, etc).
- Exceptional at building full-stack web applications.
- Great at designing and developing best-in-class user experiences.
- Able to take initiative and figure things out without being told what to do.
- Understanding of US healthcare is a bonus.
