More about the role

This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Social Impact & Due Diligence Intern in Amsterdam or Eindhoven with Signify.

In this role, you will be supporting the team in assessing and managing social and human rights impacts and risks of our operations and along our value chain. You will report to the Sustainability & Due Diligence Lead in Signify and work closely with colleagues responsible for human rights and due diligence processes with teams outside of the sustainability department. Your responsibilities include:

  • Support the continuous improvement of Signify’s human rights due diligence and monitoring processes, with a focus on our salient human rights risks in our own operations.
  • Conduct research and analysis on emerging human rights and sustainability regulations to identify new requirements and support implementation planning.
  • Review evolving international standards, guidance, and best practices related to human rights due diligence, responsible business conduct, and social sustainability.
  • Support the development and implementation of Signify’s Just Transition workplan, including research, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination activities.
  • Analyze social impact, risk, and performance data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and insights for decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development of practical tools, processes, and methodologies that translate due diligence concepts and frameworks into operational practices.
  • Conduct benchmarking of peer companies, industry initiatives, and leading practices related to social impact and human rights management.

More about you

While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Human Rights, Public Policy, International Relations, Business Ethics, Law, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Good English, both written and spoken.
  • Available to start an internship in January or February 2027, full-time (40 hours per week), for a period of 6 months.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Interest in human rights due diligence, social sustainability, responsible business conduct, and sustainability regulation.
  • Ability to translate concepts, frameworks, and theoretical models into practical processes, tools, and business applications.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft concise and well-structured materials.
  • Proactive, curious, and hands-on mindset, with a willingness to learn and contribute across a wide range of sustainability topics.

What you’ll get in return…

  • Continuous mentoring and feedback throughout your internship.
  • Internship allowance; the exact amount depends on your situation (also towards rented accommodation or public transportation).
  • Paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.
  • Extensive set of tools to drive your career, such as a personalized learning platform.
  • Opportunity to purchase products in the staff shop at reduced prices.
  • We’re offering multiple opportunities for career development, like mentoring, coaching and stretch assignments, with strong international exposure for dynamic profiles. Learning is fundamental to our culture. Through continuous learning, we are transforming the industry. You have the chance to learn every day, acquire new skills and perspectives through customized online programs, and on-the-job experiences.
  • As an intern, you will be part of the intern program in the Netherlands, consisting of several events, trainings and networking opportunities with your peer students. Join us and shine brighter together!

Notes

  • EU students: To be considered for this internship, you need to be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation of this may be requested at any time.
  • Non-EU students in Dutch Universities: You need to be registered as a student, and your university needs to sign the Nuffic Agreement. The internship needs to be a compulsory part of your studies (receive ECTS in turn). In case of non-compulsory internship, you need to have a letter from the university in which it states that your internship contributes to your personal development, what your learning goals are, and what tasks you will undertake during your internship. The letter has to be signed and stamped by your university.

Please apply only if you can meet the aforementioned requirements.
