Description
Chet's Rent-All is looking for a motivated, relationship-driven Outside Sales Representative to help grow our business and expand our customer base throughout our service area.
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving business growth by identifying, developing, and securing new equipment rental opportunities. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with contractors, municipalities, commercial businesses, industrial companies, and other organizations with equipment rental needs.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated sales professional who enjoys being in the field, developing new relationships, understanding customer needs, and delivering rental solutions that help customers get their jobs done.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect for new business through cold calling, networking, referrals, job site visits, and industry events.
- Develop relationships with contractors, builders, municipalities, industrial companies, utility contractors, and commercial businesses.
- Conduct job site visits to identify upcoming projects, equipment needs, and key decision makers.
- Promote Chet's Rent-All's equipment rental products, services, and solutions.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing customer accounts through additional equipment and services.
- Prepare rental quotations, negotiate pricing within company guidelines, and follow up on opportunities to close sales.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately document activities in the company CRM.
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, construction activity, and industry trends to identify new opportunities.
- Build relationships with project managers, estimators, superintendents, purchasing agents, facility managers, and municipal representatives.
- Coordinate customer requirements with Branch Managers, Rental Coordinators, Operations, and Fleet Management.
- Represent Chet's Rent-All professionally at customer meetings, job sites, trade shows, industry events, and community functions.
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and activity updates as required.
- Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Outside sales, business development, or account management experience preferred.
- Experience in equipment rental, construction, industrial, utility, or commercial industries is an asset.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based sales role.
- Strong customer service and follow-up skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
