Senior DevOps Engineer
Location: Israel (Hybrid)
Bitsight is the global leader in cyber risk intelligence, leveraging advanced AI to empower organizations with precise insights derived from the industry's most extensive external cybersecurity dataset. From security operations and governance teams to executive boardrooms, Bitsight provides the unified intelligence backbone required for confidently managing cyber risk and addressing exposures before they impact performance.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our multicultural DevOps team. You will own and evolve the cloud platform that dozens of R&D microservice teams build and run on, spanning multiple cloud accounts and Kubernetes clusters, GitOps-driven delivery, and observability across several platforms. Development and DevOps work as one engineering team at Bitsight: there are no silos, and we deliver business value together.
The ideal candidate takes ownership, works autonomously, communicates clearly in writing across distributed teams, and raises the bar for the engineers around them. This role offers a clear path to Staff, with growing ownership of cross-team technical direction.
Responsibilities
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll be a technical reference for our team and the development teams we support.
- Infrastructure & Security: Own the reliability, scalability, security, and cost of our multi-account cloud and Kubernetes environments.
- Delivery & Platform: Build GitOps delivery, CI/CD pipelines, and self-service platform capabilities for development teams.
- Reliability & Observability: Own observability and SLOs, take part in on-call, and lead incident response and postmortems.
- System Design: Drive architecture decisions across systems and lead large initiatives and migrations end to end.
- AI & Automation: Use AI to accelerate infrastructure and operations work, and design validated AI-driven automation that the wider team can rely on.
- Leadership: Partner with development teams, lead design discussions, communicate risks to stakeholders, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps / SRE / platform engineering in a SaaS environment
- Deep hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production at scale, including operating multiple clusters
- Deep experience with AWS, including IAM and managed Kubernetes, ideally in a multi-account setup
- Strong understanding of cloud networking and network security: VPC design, routing, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Crossplane, Terraform)
- Hands-on experience with GitOps and continuous delivery, including packaging and templating Kubernetes deployments (e.g., ArgoCD, Helm)
- Experience designing, maintaining, and monitoring CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI)
- Experience building and operating observability for distributed systems (metrics, logs, traces)
- Strong Linux administration and scripting skills, and Python development experience
- Proven production ownership: incident response, troubleshooting complex distributed systems, and on-call
- Practical experience using AI tools and building AI-assisted automation for infrastructure, with a clear view of how to validate, govern, and measure it
- Bias for action and accountability on tough calls, and the ability to base decisions on data
- Ability to take loosely-defined problems, scope them into milestones, and deliver them end to end
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Advantage - experience with:
- Integrating AI into SDLC workflows, such as AI-assisted code review, test generation, and pipeline automation, while keeping quality gates and delivery metrics (DORA: deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR) strong
- Microservices-based architecture and flexible system design
- Platform engineering and internal developer platforms
- Cloud cost optimization (FinOps)
- Identity and access management, SSO, and secrets management
- Operating data stores such as search engines and NoSQL databases
Our stack
You don't need experience with all of these; this is what you'll work with day to day: AWS, GCP, EKS, ArgoCD, Helm, GitLab CI, Crossplane, Terraform, Python
