Job Description:

Summary:    Under the direction of department management, exercises responsibility for execution of Quality Assurance strategies and tactical plans at USBRP2 (Berea, KY) site.  This position exercises independent judgment routinely and operates within established guidelines.    

Essential Functions: Includes the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by local management per the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company:

1. Support new model launch including data preparation & submission.

2. Participate in new model meetings and provide quality deliverables.

3. Facilitating root cause analysis.

4. Track, compile & report out on trial events.

5. Visiting customers as necessary; working to meet customer satisfaction.

6. Inspection activity for incoming components & finished products.

7. Interface with customer for meetings and transfer of quality documentation.

8. Providing support and data to other departments as necessary.

9. Continually working to reduce defects in area of responsibility through cross functional continuous improvement teams.

10. Cooperating with all other personnel as necessary.

11. Daily/weekly/monthly Quality reports to the Q.A. Supervisor

12. Tracks continuous improvement through measurable reports/graphs.

13. Responsible for scrap meetings daily and scrap reports weekly.

14. Capability to use common Microsoft computer program such as Excel, Word, Project, Visio, PowerPoint as above average skill level.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, skills & abilities: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possess ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required.  This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner. Must be able to work from Engineering specifications, manuals, drawings, established procedures, verbal and written instructions, use a variety of precision measuring equipment.  Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.  Must possess basic supervisory skills, SPC, FMEA, 8-D corrective action and DOE knowledge. KAIZEN activities. 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science or Technical area of study.

Experience: At least 2 years prior automotive QA related experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Ability to work 40 hours per week, including weekends and holiday work.

Travel: Occasional travel to domestic suppliers & customer is expected.  International travel to Japan for initial training is possible and as required for job performance. 

Work Environment:  Working in an office environment with exposure to manufacturing areas.
