Description
You Are: DBAs
The Work:
The Oracle 19c Database Administrator leads the extraction and migration of the legacy system database, producing a clean, integrity-validated NIPR snapshot for load into Palantir and reverse-engineering the highly normalized, time-variant schema that drives the migration. Working from the existing Dataguard replication topology, the DBA supports source-to-target data mapping, incremental sync design, and analysis of legacy Oracle ETL/PL-SQL objects to determine what carries forward into the Vantage pipeline. The role emphasizes migration and transition engineering – data profiling, reconciliation, and system data-quality validation – rather than steady-state database maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Migration & extraction
- Snapshot and extract the legacy Oracle 19c database (NIPR) for load into G-1 Palantir – consistent point-in-time capture, integrity validation, and staging (Task 1)
- Design and support source-to-target data mapping of key processes and data objects; application-dependency mapping across source systems to sequence the migration safely
- Analyze legacy Oracle ETL/PL-SQL jobs and objects to determine what must be refactored vs. retired in the move to the Palantir pipeline
- Data profiling, cleansing, and reconciliation to enforce system data-quality/validation rules on migrated data (source-to-target row/field integrity)
Transition engineering
- Work the existing replication/sync topology to establish repeatable extract/sync without disrupting the legacy system during the PoC
- Support incremental sync design from the Oracle source into Palantir
- Partition, bulk-load, and performance-tune specifically for one-time and incremental migration throughput
Foundational Oracle 19c depth (enabler, not the focus)
- Oracle 19c internals sufficient to migrate confidently – RMAN, Data Pump, ASM, PL/SQL, partitioning; enough Data Guard familiarity to work the replication seam
Environment/compliance
- DoD/Army migration context: STIG-hardened Oracle baselines, RMF, NIPR constraints, and handling of controlled data during transition
Bonus if you have:
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) 19c
- Security+ (DoD 8570/8140 baseline for privileged access)
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must have Secret clearance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
