Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead three to five acquisitions annually across the full transaction lifecycle, from initial evaluation and seller engagement through diligence, negotiation, execution, and integration.
- Develop investment theses and evaluate strategic fit, financial performance, growth potential, risks, and value-creation opportunities.
- Direct financial modeling, valuation, deal structuring, and returns analysis, providing clear recommendations to senior leadership and the Investment Committee.
- Lead financial and operational diligence across revenue, clients, projects, employees, leadership, market position, and other critical areas of the business.
- Build trusted relationships with founders, owners, and management teams while representing Trilon's partnership model throughout the transaction process.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders and manage external legal, accounting, tax, insurance, market, and other transaction advisors.
- Prepare and present decision materials to Trilon's executive team and Investment Committee, clearly articulating the strategic rationale, economics, risks, and recommended path forward.
- Partner with regional and operating company leaders to align transaction decisions with business priorities and support a thoughtful transition into integration.
- Manage, mentor, and develop Analysts and Associates, setting clear expectations and raising the quality of analysis, judgment, and execution across the team.

- Demonstrated experience executing M&A transactions and leading major workstreams with increasing independence.
- Advanced financial modeling, valuation, financial statement analysis, and transaction structuring capabilities.
- Experience managing diligence processes and coordinating internal teams and third-party advisors against demanding timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex analysis into clear recommendations for senior decision-makers.
- A bachelor's degree and a record of strong academic and professional performance
- A strong combination of analytical horsepower and emotional intelligence, with the ability to move comfortably between detailed financial work and high-trust conversations with sellers.
- Sound judgment and a willingness to recommend against a transaction when it is not right for Trilon, rather than pursuing deals simply to generate volume.
- A relationship-oriented approach and the ability to build credibility quickly with founders, executives, regional leaders, and internal partners.
- A hands-on leadership style and genuine interest in developing junior team members through feedback, coaching, and meaningful responsibility.
- High personal standards, resilience, and the drive to deliver excellent work in an entrepreneurial environment with significant autonomy.
- Intellectual curiosity and an interest in understanding the operating businesses behind the numbers, not only the transaction mechanics.
