Responsibilities
Peraton requires IT Specialists to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3. This position is located in Arlington, VA.
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
Information Technology Specialists are responsible for maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing personal computer systems, hardware, software, computer peripherals, network, and AV equipment. Assist employees via remote access, phone, or in person. Information Technology Associates need critical thinking, problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as diverse experience with desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity. The ability to test and troubleshoot secure/non-secure voice, video, and data systems. Provide administration of network and communications systems, including, but not limited to Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) systems. Requires knowledge of AV/VTC hardware, software, and network connections. Experience providing support to setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment (displays, microphones, sound boards etc.).
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide initial incident response and resolve service tickets using approved tools, including ServiceNow and Remedy.
- Install, configure, test, monitor, maintain, patch, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure and associate hardware and software.
- Install, configure, image, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, and other peripheral equipment.
- Install, configure, patch, update, and troubleshoot approved operating systems and software applications.
- Assist with diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network, connectivity, and system-performance issues; escalate complex issues as required.
- Support equipment refresh activities, including the removal of obsolete equipment and authorized data migration between systems.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems, video teleconference (VTC) endpoints, and associated equipment.
- Install, terminate, test, label, and troubleshoot copper and fiber-optic cabling from communications rooms through Consolidation Points (CPs) to end-user connection points.
- Install and support communications-room infrastructure, including patch panels, patch plates, routers, switches, and related network devices.
- Ensure cables, patch panels, CPs, and related devices are labeled in accordance with DoD standards.
- Transport, install, relocate, and remove IT and telecommunications equipment as required.
- Dispose of packaging, excess materials, obsolete equipment, and end-of-life equipment in accordance with applicable procedures.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Min 9 years with HS Diploma, 7 years with AS/AA degree, 5 years with BS/BA, 3 years MS/MA
- A DoD TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Meet Department of War (DoW) 8140 requirements for Work Role Code 411, Technical Support Specialist, at the Intermediate level.
- Maintain DoD Directive 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification requirements, along with either Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator certification.
- Be available for up to 20 percent local travel within the National Capital Region (NCR), including Pentagon, Mark Center, and Crystal City.
- Available to switch work locations between the Mark Center and Pentagon for extended periods.
- Available to travel to Tampa, Florida for training.
- Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills and a positive, customer-focused service attitude.
