POSITION SUMMARY
USA Lacrosse is looking for a Manager, Games Administration to join our team. In this critical role you will provide administrative, programmatic, and stakeholder support to the Sport Experience team with a primary focus on the Lacrosse Equipment Council. You will provide administrative support for the rules and governance of the men’s and women’s games.
Working under the direction of the Lacrosse Equipment Council Chair who sets the Council’s overall strategy and priorities, you will coordinate the Governing Committee and Advisory Group, manage industry and public consultation, support the development of equipment standards and the equipment verification/certification program, and serve as a neutral liaison among manufacturers, testing laboratories, rule-making bodies, and internal teams.

A Typical Day Looks Like…
Games & Event Administration
- Provides administrative and programmatic support for the following:
- Responds to inquiries on rules and policies for both the men’s and women’s games, including, but not limited to, responding to inquiries about all disciplines of the game (Field, Sixes, and Box) and escalating concerns as appropriate.
- Maintains an organized, searchable record of rules and equipment inquiries and their resolutions and using this data to identify trends and develop FAQs and other related resources for members.
- Tracks rule and equipment changes across all rule-making bodies and disciplines (Field, Sixes, and Box) and keeps internal teams and members informed.
- Ensures organizational collaboration and resource/information sharing for policy and governance concerns and game specific initiatives. This includes partnering with the marketing team on communication and promotion of Sport Experience initiatives and programs and games updates (i.e., rules, equipment, etc.) to ensure accurate and consistent communication and messaging.
- As needed, represents USA Lacrosse games administration with rule-making partners. This includes tasks such as gathering and communicating information to the SR Director, Sport Experience as needed.
- Plans and executes Lacrosse Equipment Council (LEC) industry forums, technical sessions, and open Advisory Group meetings (virtual and in-person), including logistics, materials, and follow-ups.
- Attends USA Lacrosse and partner events to support rules and equipment presentations.
Council & Committee Oversight & Management
- Manages the Rules Committee volunteer structure, rule proposal process, and related review and communications. This includes overseeing the administration and procedures for documenting and indexing LEC initiatives, including, but not limited to, reviewing and summarizing submissions and feedback/comments on committee initiatives.
- Supports and carries out the strategies set by the LEC Chair, who retains responsibility for the Council’s overall strategy, priorities, and direction, and leads its relationships with the Governing Committee, rule-making bodies, and industry, supports and carries out that strategy. Unless otherwise directed to do so by the LEC Chair, this role does not set LEC policy or standards or represent the Council externally.
- Serves as staff administrator to the LEC Governing Committee, attending approximately 8 to 10 virtual meetings per year, and Advisory Group, attending quarterly open meetings plus additional sessions as called. This includes, but is not limited to, meeting scheduling, preparing agendas, pre-read packets, minutes, and maintaining the LEC action item tracker and following up to ensure action items are completed as necessary.
- Supports the Board appointment process for the Governing Committee, including staggered terms, tracking and collecting annual conflict-of-interest disclosures, and maintaining the public Advisory Group roster.
- Administers the LEC consultation process, including opening and managing public comment periods and industry surveys, receiving change requests and proposals through the website form, logging and summarizing all submissions, and ensuring written responses are issued before Governing Committee approval.
- Coordinates industry engagement with manufacturers and trade associations as directed by the LEC Chair, including, but not limited to, one on one calls, closed-door technical sessions for engineers, response tracking, and attribution permissions. This includes tasks such as:
- Working with independent accredited testing laboratories to coordinate test protocol reviews, scheduling, and test demonstrations (video or annotated diagrams) for industry education.
- Supporting the administration of the equipment verification/certification program, including tracking model submissions and test results, maintaining the list of verified or certified models, and keeping records on certification mark use and audits in accordance with the Stick Testing and Certification SOP.
- Maintains version control and document management for LEC governing documents, including SOPs, governance protocol, meeting records, and published standards.
- Serves as a liaison to rule-making bodies (NCAA, NFHS, World Lacrosse) on LEC recommendations as directed by the LEC Chair, including tracking adoption status and transition timelines at each body.
- Researches and benchmarks peer equipment certification programs and testing standards (e.g., NOCSAE, SEI, ASTM, USA Softball) to make informed recommendations to the LEC Chair and Governing Committee.
- Protects confidential and proprietary manufacturer information and maintains separate internal and industry-facing versions of LEC materials.
Is This You…
- High school diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor's degree in business, communication, sports management, or similar area of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in administrative and logistical support of a program and/or department. Experience managing volunteers and/or serving as a Program Leader for a lacrosse organization a plus.
- Prior experience in sport administration a plus. Must possess an interest in sports governance and administration, lacrosse rules, and equipment development with the ability to look at things through an analytical lens from an unbiased, neutral third-party perspective.
- Experience working with lacrosse programs/leagues, coaches, and/or officials with an ability to provide thorough communication, ensuring all parties have the necessary information.
- Previous working experience in a non-profit, association, or other member-based organization a plus.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships and establishing trust to advance programs and organizational initiatives.
- Ability to conduct research to gather information and provide necessary reports to stakeholders so they can use the data in decision making. This includes survey design, summary reports, and written responses to public comments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal team members and departments, as well as external parties, to problem solve and think "outside the box" to bring together differing perspectives to alignment and to gain buy in. This includes the ability to assist in the implementation and adoption of the solution.
- Familiarity with sports equipment standards, testing methods, or certification programs a plus, with the ability to read technical specifications and translate them into plain language.
- Experience providing administrative support for committees or councils, including agendas, minutes, governance procedures, and volunteer appointments.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain neutrality and confidentiality when working with commercial competitors.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and meet required deadlines, and exceptional attention to detail and follow up/through skills.
- Effective communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal. This includes the ability and confidence to speak publicly and exchange written communication with stakeholder audiences.
- Ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential information.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid, fast-paced, results oriented work environment.

- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Knowledge of Salesforce and project management tools such as Monday.com a plus and the ability to learn new software programs.
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule to work nights and/or weekends to accommodate the needs of Program Leaders, Committees, and other related business needs. This may also include overnight/multi-day travel.

Expected Hours of Work
This position is generally expected to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and occasionally requires longer hours or weekend work as related to events and other business needs. This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks, MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.
Compensation & Benefits Overview
The base pay range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000, commensurate with experience, plus opportunity for annual incentive pay.

Travel Requirements
Travel may be necessary up to 25% of the time (local, regional). Travel would involve the following mode(s) of travel: car, train, or air. Some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.
