Salary Range: $65,000 - $77,000 ***This is an estimated salary range. Compensation will be commensurate with experience***

Functional Description:  


Davis Defense Group, Inc. (DDG) is seeking an HTML5 programmer to support the U.S. Marine Corps College of Distance Education and Training (CDET) in Quantico Virginia. This position will be responsible for development, modification, testing, and maintenance of interactive instructional courseware and digital learning materials supporting distance education requirements in Marine Corps Professional Military Education (PME). The HTML5 programmer works closely with curriculum developers, instructional designers, subject matter experts, graphic designers, and multimedia specialists to transform curriculum content into engaging, functional, and accessible online learning experiences. 


Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Work with curriculum developers and subject matter experts to develop graphic strategies to achieve learning outcomes and objectives using HTML 5 to incorporate new content, revisions and instructional changes. 
  • Convert curriculum and instructional content into functional, engaging, and user-friendly online lessons to support instructionally valid, asynchronous, self-paced delivery on the Marine Corps eLearning Ecosystem (MCeLE). 
  • Develop and maintain interactive eLearning courseware using dominKnow authoring software. 
  • Build and configure knowledge checks, quizzes, tests, and other assessments based on curriculum requirements. 
  • Implement question types, scoring, feedback, branching, navigation, and other interactive elements. 
  • Test courseware for functionality, navigation, usability, and consistency before release. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within courseware and authoring environments. 
  • Ensure courseware meets applicable Section 508/accessibility requirements. 
  • Support development and implementation of SCORM/xAPI-compliant courseware and integration with learning management systems when required. 
  • Modify and maintain existing lessons as curriculum content and technical requirements evolve. 
  • Collaborate with multimedia and graphic design personnel to incorporate video, audio, graphics, animations, and other media into instructional products, as well as customer marketing and outreach programs. 
  • Maintain organized source files, assets, and development documentation. 
  • Assist with quality assurance and user acceptance testing. 
  • Provide regular, proactive updates to the team regarding lesson development progress/status, anticipated completion dates, and any issues or obstacles that may affect the development schedule. 
  • Manage multiple assignments and meet established production schedules. 
  • Provide webpage design and programming expertise to other CDET programs. 
  • Stay current with emerging eLearning technologies, authoring tools, web standards, instructional media practices, and emerging AI technologies. 

Required Experience:  

  • Experience developing interactive eLearning or instructional courseware. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build and modify interactive lessons independently. 
  • Experience developing online assessments, including knowledge checks, quizzes, tests, scoring, feedback, and branching. 
  • Working knowledge of HTML5 and web-based technologies like Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and JavaScript. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues within an eLearning authoring environment. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, functional, and polished courseware. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with curriculum developers, multimedia specialists, graphic designers, and subject matter experts. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet established production schedules. 

Desired Experience:  

  • Experience with Lectora Desktop, dominKnow, or other responsive design courseware development tools.  
  • Experience with SCORM and/or xAPI. 
  • Experience working with learning management systems (LMS, e.g., MOODLE). 
  • Experience with QuestionMark or other assessment building software tools.  
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, or After Effects. 
  • Graphic design or visual communication experience. 
  • Experience incorporating video, audio, animation, and other multimedia into interactive courseware. 
  • Experience working with government, military, higher education, or other structured training environments. 
  • Knowledge of Section 508 and accessible eLearning development. 
  • Experience with quality assurance and testing of digital learning products. 
  • Interest in assisting with video production. 

Education Requirements:  

  • Required: High School Diploma.  
  • Desired: Associate’s degree in web design/development, graphic design, or graphic art.
