Description
Dematic is seeking a talented Mechanical Installation Supervisor to lead mechanical installation activities across customer sites throughout the continental United States. This role is responsible for leading field installation activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence while coordinating subcontractors and contract labor teams. The position plays a critical role in delivering successful project outcomes by maintaining Dematic installation standards, supporting commissioning activities, and providing clear communication between field execution and project leadership. This role is highly travel-intensive (up to 100%) and offers opportunities to contribute across multiple projects and disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Lead jobsite safety programs including BBSO, JSA, JHA, and daily safety meetings
- Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with OSHA and Dematic standards
- Maintain jobsite housekeeping and enforce a safe working environment
Mechanical Installation Leadership & Execution
- Supervise and coordinate contract labor teams (6+ installers) and subcontractors
- Provide training, direction, and support to less experienced team members
- Oversee installation of material handling systems to ensure compliance with Dematic standards
- Assist with equipment trial runs to confirm proper installation and performance
- Support cross-functional work across disciplines when required
Quality Assurance
- Ensure installation quality across internal teams, manufacturing deliverables, and subcontractors
- Complete quality checklists and ensure compliance with standards
- Manage and close punch list items
Project Coordination & Communication
- Provide site status updates on schedule, manpower, and performance to Project Manager and/or Site Manager
- Attend and lead daily standups as required
- Participate in weekly project meetings and post-mortem reviews
- Escalate issues to Project Manager, Engineering, Site Manager, or Installation Manager as needed
Materials & Logistics
- Manage site material inventory and ensure materials are available and properly tracked
- Order required installation materials including air systems
Reporting & Problem Solving
- Write clear, concise trip reports per Dematic procedures
- Identify problems as they arise and recommend practical solutions
- Support issue resolution for non-complex technical challenges
- Responsibile for planning, booking, and reconciling expenses using the CONCUR Expense Reporting tool and a Dematic travel credit card.
Skills & Capabilities

- Basic to intermediate computer skills including reporting tools and databases
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, high-travel environments
Experience Desired
- Experience supervising installation teams and subcontractors on construction or industrial sites
- Proven experience installing or troubleshooting electromechanical equipment
- Experience working with material handling systems such as conveyors, AGVs, or AS/RS (preferred)
- Background in quality assurance processes and installation standards
- Experience coordinating field execution with project management teams
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s Degree preferred (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)
- OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
Tasks and Qualifications:
- Travel up to 100% to customer locations; must be able to travel on short notice
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and off-shift hours (OT eligible)
- Ability to push, pull, crawl, squat, and walk across large construction sites
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Must have knowledge of personal computer hardware setup, software configuration, and database systems
- Must comply with all applicable labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies
