Lab Technician II

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Lab Technician II. This role is located out of Raleigh, NC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year.

The Lead Validation Engineering Technician is an exciting role providing technical support for engineering teams in the development of new Eaton power system products and accessories. This role will support 3-phase UPS ( Uninterrupted Power Supplies) products typically utilized in commercial data centers and institutions.

## What you’ll do:

\- Install equipment & instrumentation for use in evaluation of power systems products

\- Perform product testing to industry standards

\- Use computer-based test equipment for recording and analysis of test data

\- Organize test data and prepare test reports

\- Fabricate, modify and repair electronic assemblies and related hardware

\- Test lab maintenance and organization

## Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
• Minimum three (3 years) experience in an engineering or technical role.
• Willing to work in a high-power lab test environment. (600vac, 1K DC).

• Candidate must reside within 50 miles of Raleigh, NC. Relocation is not available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Electrical/Electronics related degree from an accredited institution
• Experience with low voltage electrical systems.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience with electrical power systems, batteries, UPS systems, industrial controls, or a related engineering/technical role.
• Understanding of electronic circuit theory and troubleshooting.
• Experience with component parametric evaluation.
• Use of electronic test instrumentation.
• Experience with setup and test for product certifications.
• Electromechanical prototype fabrication experience.
• PCBA rework, modification and soldering techniques.
• Knowledge of basic electricity
• Collaborative orientation.
• Previous experience/knowledge with UPS and/or power electronic products.
• Previous Coursework in power electronics .
• Lab experience around high voltage where safety awareness is critical.
• Must possess effective and verbal communications skills.
• Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills to maintain and address multiple assigned projects and expectations
