Description
We are currently seeking experienced Industrial Plumbers / Pipefitters with a background in Fire Fighting Systems to join our client's team. The successful candidates will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of fire protection piping systems, ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with industry standards, project specifications, and Health & Safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and maintain fire fighting pipework systems, including sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, pumps, and associated equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, fire protection layouts, and piping schematics.
- Measure, cut, thread, groove, fit, and assemble steel, copper, and other piping materials.
- Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, and commissioning of fire fighting systems.
- Carry out maintenance, repairs, and modifications to existing fire protection installations.
- Install valves, pumps, fittings, supports, and ancillary fire fighting equipment.
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant fire safety regulations, specifications, and industry standards.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and other trades on site.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organised condition.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and site regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Industrial Plumber, Pipefitter, or Fire Fighting Systems Installer.
- Proven experience working on sprinkler systems, hydrant networks, hose reels, and other fire suppression systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans.
- Experience with threading, grooving, welding preparation, and pipe fabrication is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of fire protection systems and installation practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driving licence will be considered an asset.
