Job Title

Advisor, Infrastructure Engineering

About your role:

As a Load Balancer Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain load balancing and traffic management solutions that support secure, scalable, and highly available network services. You will partner with network, security, infrastructure, and application teams to deliver resilient solutions across data center and cloud environments. Your work will help improve application availability, strengthen enterprise network performance, and support secure infrastructure modernization.

What you'll do:

  • Design, implement, and maintain load balancing infrastructure using F5 BIG-IP, Citrix NetScaler, Avi Networks, or similar application delivery controller (ADC) platforms.
  • Configure and support local and global load balancing solutions, including Domain Name System (DNS)-based Global Server Load Balancing and application traffic management capabilities.
  • Manage the daily administration of load balancing environments, including monitoring, troubleshooting, change implementation, and performance optimization.
  • Analyze network and application traffic flows, including Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) behavior and packet inspection, to resolve issues and improve service availability.
  • Partner with network engineering, security, cloud, and infrastructure teams to support new implementations, migrations, baseline reviews, and enterprise architecture initiatives.
  • Design and engineer Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and IP Address Management (IPAM) solutions using platforms such as Nokia VitalQIP, NS1, BlueCat, Infoblox, or similar technologies.
  • Support cloud and data center load balancing strategy, including design of highly available network solutions aligned with enterprise standards and security baselines.
  • Identify, assess, and recommend new technologies, protocols, and solutions that improve network efficiency, resiliency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop testing, backup, and disaster recovery processes for load balancing and telecommunications infrastructure to minimize malfunctions and service disruption.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for complex load balancing issues and collaborate with internal teams to resolve engineering and deployment challenges.
  • Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 6+ years of experience in network engineering, load balancing engineering, application delivery, or related infrastructure roles supporting enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting load balancing solutions using F5 BIG-IP, Citrix NetScaler, Avi Networks, or similar application delivery controller platforms.
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, and IPAM technologies, including design and engineering of DNS-based global server load balancing solutions and local application load balancing solutions.
  • Experience working with data center and cloud networking concepts, including high availability, routing, switching, firewall concepts, WAN, LAN, and network security fundamentals.
  • Experience troubleshooting network and application traffic flows, including TCP/IP, OSI model concepts, network performance, and capacity issues.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure migrations, security baseline reviews, and operational improvements in complex enterprise networks.
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS), F5 Certified Solution Expert (F5-CSE), or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and operational procedures for telecommunications or network infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting cloud-native application delivery and hybrid network architectures.
  • Experience in financial services, payments, or similarly regulated infrastructure environments.

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.About your role:As a Load Balancer Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain load balancing and traffic management solutions that support secure, scalable, and highly available network services.
