The Elmore Plant Manager, Support Services, is responsible for the effective management of all functional teams associated with the Elmore facility. This includes Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Quality, Maintenance, Facilities, Security, Shipping & Receiving and Plant Administrative support. The Plant Manager, Support Services will ensure seamless coordination among these departments to achieve operational excellence, maintain compliance, and drive continuous improvement across all areas of the plan.

Based at our Elmore, Ohio facility and reporting to the Vice President, Operations - Materion Performance Materials (PM), this highly visible role operates on multiple levels in a matrixed organization.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Drives initiatives to foster a best-in-class safety culture.

  • Supports the Elmore Plant Manager, Operations, to ensure On Time Delivery, Productivity and Cost targets are met.

  • Manages and monitors systems that ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations, labor law and compliance, with corporate policies and procedures.

  • Collaborates across Materion’s global organization to achieve lowest cost position in all functional areas.

  • Able to develop and hone functional strategies to support Operations and their implementation.

  • Differentiates through manufacturing excellence based on process reliability and the fundamental concepts of Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement tools in all business areas.

  • Provides critical business analytics for high profile/strategic projects.

  • Demonstrates and utilizes principles and industry standard methodologies in asset management to improve the overall reliability for the assets, equipment, systems operated and maintained by Materion.

  • Understands, develops and follows processes/procedures to collect relevant information for decision-making in capital planning for Materion’s asset management, asset renewal or asset replacement.

  • Manages, coaches and develops plant leadership team.

  • Develops plant talent, skills and career paths to attract, retain, engage a highly skilled workforce.

  • Drives organizational development initiatives to align workforce plans with business needs.

  • Serves as a primary local community partner on behalf of Materion.

  • Is customer-focused and exceeds customer expectations in all aspects of our business.

  • Is results-oriented, team based organizational approach in line with high personal and professional standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required (Engineering, Operations Management, Technology); Master’s Degree preferred.

  • 12-15 years or more of managerial experience in manufacturing/industrial environments; heavy industrial - capital intensive desired.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, Environmental regulations and labor law.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt or equivalent knowledge of formal Quality and Productivity Improvement Processes.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; focus on driving disciplined, fact-based decisions and executing with discipline and urgency.

  • Track record of successful Project Management experience, leading multiple projects.

  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.

  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.

  • Experience in both direct leadership of subordinate staff as well as “influencing” others to achieve desired results.

  • Inspirational & adaptive leadership style that promotes innovation and collaboration that fosters an engaged workforce committed to common goals.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to present information to diverse audiences.


 

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
