Description
About the Trimmer (Finish Carpenter) position We are looking for carpenters to join the finish trim team in new construction homes, working with wooden structures such as cutting, fabricating and installing, in strict accordance with specifications. You should possess great hand dexterity and an eye for detail, being able to work with little supervision and follow safety standards. We also expect you to have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Key Responsibilities Are:• Install Base/Shoe• Install Hardware (knobs, latches, strike plates, etc.)• Hang Doors (swing, double, bi-pass, French, pocket, etc.)• Install Shelving (wire and wood)• Case Doors• Case Windows• Scuttle (garage, interior)• Mantles• Handrails• Stairwork (Stringers, spindles, skirtboards)• Misc. other finishes (int/ext posts, 2-step, transitions, full-wrap windows, etc.)• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other layouts.• Accurately measure, cut, and install various fixtures and woodwork• Ensure a snug fit and smooth transition in joints; trim and sand surfaces as needed• Verify quality of materials to ensure quality finished product• Must be able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines Other Requirements Are: • Ability to safely lift/carry 50-75lbs or more frequently• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time• Ability to bend, crouch, twist, kneel, reach, etc.• Ability to complete various repetitive movements• Ability to use basic and intermediate hand tools and power tools/machinery• Basic math skills• Exceptional finger dexterity• Effective time management• Critical thinking/problem solving• Must be reliable, punctual, and have strong work ethic• Must own or be willing to obtain some relevant/proper tools; pouch(es)• Must have reliable transportation to and from job site(s)• Valid driver’s license strongly preferred• Exceptional written and oral communication (English)• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Shift Details:Monday - Friday, 8-hour shiftsNo nights / No weekends Compensation:Starting pay based on experience ($20-25 typical)Merit-based increases
