Midstream Superintendent- Permian

The Midstream Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and management of midstream assets, including pipelines, gathering systems, storage facilities and SWD injection wells. This position ensures that midstream operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry regulations and company policies. The superintendent will also manage field personnel, contractors, and equipment, and play a key role in optimizing throughput and minimizing downtime. This position is assigned to the Midland office with an expectation of frequent and regular visits to the field operations in both Midland and Delaware basins.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operations Management: Oversee the safe and efficient operation of midstream infrastructure, including pipelines, storage facilities and saltwater disposals

• Direct and manage field teams, including foremen, operators, and construction crews. Ensure proper training, performance evaluations, and adherence to safety protocols

• Maintenance & Repairs: Coordinate and oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of midstream assets to ensure operational efficiency and minimize disruptions

• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with relevant safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT), environmental standards, and internal company policies. Lead safety culture and enforce adherence to safety procedures

• Budget Management: Support development and maintenance of capital (CAPEX) and operating (OPEX/LOE) budgets while ensuring cost-effective resource allocation while maintaining high standards of operational performance

• Coordination: Collaborate with engineering and construction teams on expansion projects, upgrades, and system modifications. Oversee project schedules and contractor performance to ensure timely completion

• Commercial: Work closely with marketing/commercial team to assist in evaluating new business opportunities, expansions, and third-party agreements 

• Regulatory Reporting: Ensure timely submission of all regulatory and compliance reports, such as H-5 testing for SWDs and T-4 pipeline filings. Maintain accurate records of all operations, incidents, and safety activities

• Asset Optimization: Analyze operational data and trends to identify opportunities for increasing throughput, reducing operational costs, and improving overall system performance

• Emergency Response: Lead response efforts during operational emergencies or incidents. Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to manage crises effectively

• Perform typical responsibilities such as planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and coaching.  Work is reviewed to ensure competency in meeting stated goals and objectives

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in engineering field preferred

• Minimum of 15 years oilfield experience including 5+ years of supervisory experience.  Experience in Permian Basin Production operations is a strong advantage

• Strong technical background in well design and Production operations

• Effective project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time

• Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees in the organization and all functional groups (i.e. Production Engineering, Completion Engineering and Operations, Production Operations, EH&S, Finance/Accounting, Land, Regulatory)

• Strong leadership skills and a proven background in supervising a diverse contractor work force

• Deals with ambiguity effectively and can effectively handle change and comfortably handle risk and uncertainty
