Service Cashier

Volkswagen of Alamo Heights is part of the rapidly growing Group 1 Automotive, a Fortune 250 leader in automotive retail and service. We are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Service Cashier to join our service team.

As the final point of contact for our service customers, you play an important role in creating an outstanding customer experience. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong attention to detail, and takes pride in providing accurate, efficient, and professional service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a warm, professional, and welcoming experience to every customer.
• Process customer payments accurately using cash, checks, credit cards, and other approved payment methods.
• Review repair orders and invoices for accuracy before completing transactions.
• Reconcile repair orders and ensure all required documentation is complete.
• Calculate charges for labor, parts, taxes, warranties, and other applicable fees.
• Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and reconcile daily transactions.
• Complete accounting portions of repair orders in accordance with dealership procedures.
• Process and submit closed repair orders and related documentation daily.
• Return vehicle keys upon payment and assist customers with directions as needed.
• Answer incoming service department calls, transfer calls appropriately, and take detailed messages.
• Work closely with service advisors, technicians, and office staff to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information at all times.
• Perform other administrative and customer service duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, customer service, receptionist, or administrative experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Comfortable handling cash and balancing daily transactions.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn dealership software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Positive, friendly, and professional attitude.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
