Performance Analyst, Sr Associate

JOB SUMMARY

The Performance Analyst (Sr. Associate) will provide analysis of performance intelligence that drives decision-making and process improvements in the operational execution of our portfolio, with a specific focus on clinical trial and regulatory operations processes and quality indicators. The role blends traditional performance analytics with modern data engineering and emerging AI capabilities to accelerate insight generation, automate workflows, and enhance the value delivered to stakeholders. Key customers will be lines within Research and Development with a focus on Clinical Development & Operations (CD&O).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide moderately complex performance metrics that measure operations and quality in support of stakeholders in Clinical Development & Operations (CD&O) in Research and Development to be used in the oversight of clinical performance.

• Apply business knowledge to the definition and use of performance metrics that measure, control, and improve operational and quality performance across the portfolio.

• Liaise with assigned stakeholders and team members to measure process control, mitigate operational and quality risk, confirm the effectiveness of process improvement, and identify opportunities for further optimization.

• Design, implement, and maintain reports, performance dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders to receive consistent updates, integrating intelligence based on analytical findings or via liaising with subject matter experts.

• Analyze and present data from internal and external sources to build a clear understanding of current performance and trends across multiple perspectives including, but not limited to, quality, speed, cost, and productivity.

• Measure performance against established operational targets in line with Pfizer's vision and goals for assigned work products.

• Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from multiple internal and external sources, leveraging tools such as Databricks and Alteryx to ensure reliable, reusable, and scalable analytics-ready datasets.

• Write efficient SQL queries and Python scripts (using libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and PySpark) to curate, manipulate, and analyze large clinical and operational datasets.

• Develop and maintain visualizations and interactive dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Spotfire to communicate insights effectively to business stakeholders.

• Contribute to a work environment that encourages innovation, experimentation with emerging technologies, and strong customer relationship management.

• Demonstrate attention to detail — QC and verify data for own work, checking for accuracy and completeness prior to publishing materials to business stakeholders.

• Support more senior team members with ad hoc and ongoing analytics and reporting requests, including data-driven enrollment scenarios utilizing internal and external data sources.

• Explore and apply Generative AI (GenAI) capabilities to enhance analytics deliverables, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and use of large language models for text summarization, data exploration, and productivity.

• Contribute to the design, build, and deployment of AI agents using code (indicative framework: LangChain) to automate analytical workflows and stakeholder-facing solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• BA/BS required.

• 3+ years of relevant experience.

• Experience in analytics, particularly technical data curation and manipulation skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Able to work and collaborate effectively with teams.

• Is naturally curious, seeks quality information, and provides analyses and recommendations supported by facts. Able to effectively visualize patterns to identify KPIs.

• Contributes to a learning environment by sharing knowledge and best practices within and across the organization.

• Demonstrated experience in the manipulation of large data sets, integration of data across multiple sources, and data structuring to facilitate analyses.

• Essential technical skills:

• SQL — strong hands-on experience writing complex queries against relational and cloud data warehouses.

• Python — proficient use of core data-analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, PySpark, matplotlib/seaborn).

• Data pipelines — demonstrated experience designing and operating end-to-end data pipelines using indicative solutions such as Databricks and Alteryx.

• Data visualization — hands-on experience with at least one enterprise BI/visualization tool (Tableau, Power BI, or Spotfire).

• Microsoft Office applications (Excel / PowerPoint).

• Generative AI foundations — prompt engineering, working with LLM APIs, and applying RAG patterns to enterprise data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MS/MBA preferred.

• Databricks — practical experience with notebooks, workflows, and Spark-based data processing.

• Building AI agents using code (indicative framework: LangChain), including tool use, orchestration, and evaluation.

• Deploying AI agents into productive environments (packaging, containerization, API exposure, monitoring, and lifecycle management).

• Knowledge of clinical trial / regulatory processes.

• Experience of drug discovery and development in a global matrix organization.

• Exposure to modern data platforms and cloud analytics ecosystems.
