POSITION SPECIFICS
The Department of Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology is seeking an Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Assist Administrative Coordinator in managing budgets for general funds (start up, RIF, gift funds), research grants, contracts, and endowments for the department. Assist with various grant management functions in collaboration with the administrative coordinator and college research team including budget revisions, nocost extensions, etc., as needed.
Monitor budgets, track financial transactions and assist with reports and audits for the department head, administrative manager and faculty as needed.
Administrative and operational support for faculty. Investigate and manage transactions upon request from faculty. Support faculty in submitting and managing tickets.
Assist with initiating financial transactions.
Administrative support: organization of seminar activities and faculty candidate visits; main contact for speaker arrangements; support facilities and onboarding tasks.
Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess exemplary organizational, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effiiciently and accurately are essential.
The candidate must be able to work independently as well as be part of the team.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
If filled as Administrative Assistant - Senior Support, this position requires: Associate Degree 4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None If filled as Administrative Assistant - Intermediate Support, this position requires: General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $40,608.00 - $64,668.00.
