Supply Chain Manager
Food Imports | International Supply Chain | Demand Planning | FMCG
West London
Are you an experienced Supply Chain Manager, Import Manager, Demand Planner, Logistics Manager or Supply Chain Specialist looking for the opportunity to take ownership of an end-to-end international supply chain?
Have you built your career within food imports, food trading, FMCG, wholesale food distribution or international food manufacturing, and are now ready to take the next step into a broader, more commercially focused leadership role?
If you enjoy improving supply chain performance, managing international suppliers, optimising inventory and helping a growing business scale its operations, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing UK food business supplying a portfolio of high-quality food products to the foodservice, wholesale and retail sectors across the UK.
Their expanding portfolio includes high-quality ambient and frozen food products sourced from leading European manufacturers.
With an established supplier network across Europe, nationwide distribution and ambitious growth plans, the business is investing in strengthening its supply chain function.
The Role
This is a hands-on senior role with responsibility for managing the end-to-end supply chain, from supplier relationship management and international logistics through to UK imports, inventory planning and customer fulfilment.
Working closely with the Operations Director, you'll play a key role in ensuring products move efficiently from suppliers through to customers while continually improving operational performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants genuine ownership of the supply chain within a growing international food business, rather than managing just one part of the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop long-term relationships with suppliers across Europe.
- Coordinate international shipments, freight forwarding, customs clearance and inbound logistics.
- Negotiate transport rates and work closely with logistics partners to ensure cost-effective distribution.
- Manage UK import procedures, customs documentation and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee third-party warehousing, cold storage and logistics providers.
- Plan inbound and outbound shipments in line with customer demand and stock targets.
- Develop inventory strategies to maximise product availability while optimising stock levels.
- Support demand planning and sales forecasting.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery and documentation issues.
- Drive continuous improvement across supply chain processes and reporting.
- Work closely with Sales, Finance and Operations to ensure products are delivered efficiently and customers receive an excellent service.
- Monitor KPIs including supplier performance, stock accuracy, logistics costs, on-time delivery and service levels.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving operational challenges, improving efficiency and building resilient international supply chains.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience within food imports, food trading, FMCG, wholesale food distribution or international food manufacturing, covering ambient or frozen foods.
- Experience managing overseas supplier relationships, international logistics, imports and freight forwarding.
- Strong understanding of UK import procedures, customs documentation and Incoterms.
- Experience with inventory planning, demand planning or supply planning.
- Experience managing third-party logistics providers and warehouse operations.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong commercial awareness with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience using ERP systems together with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent English and the right to work in the UK.
Other requirements:
- Experience using Xero, Zoho Books or similar ERP systems would be advantageous.
- An understanding of BRCGS, SALSA or other food safety and quality management standards would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of another European language would be beneficial.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join a growing international food business where you'll have genuine ownership of the supply chain and the opportunity to influence how the operation develops.
You'll benefit from:
- End-to-end ownership of the supply chain rather than a narrow operational role.
- Direct access to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence key business decisions.
- A varied role covering supplier relationship management, imports, logistics, demand planning, inventory management and continuous improvement.
- The opportunity to shape and develop supply chain processes within a fast-growing business.
- Scope to build and lead a wider operations function as the business continues to grow.
- A collaborative and entrepreneurial environment where your ideas and experience will make a genuine impact.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Performance-related bonus.
- 28 days' holiday including bank holidays.
- Statutory pension.
- Ongoing professional development and training.
- A high-impact role with significant responsibility and visibility across the business.
Apply
If you're currently working as a Supply Chain Manager, Import Manager, Logistics Manager, Demand Planner, Supply Planner, Procurement & Supply Chain Manager, Supply Chain Specialist or Senior Supply Chain Coordinator, and you're looking for a broader role where you can genuinely influence the direction of a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.
