JOB DESCRIPTION
1st SHIFT HOURS 8:30 AM – MON-FRI, UNTIL FINISHED.
The Seat Assembly Operator is responsible for participating as a Team Member in the manufacturing of quality products with minimal cost for scrap and re-work and with minimal delay by the use of inspection, knowledge of the product and processes, and sound judgment.
Duties
- Complete assembly of automotive seating units while maintaining good housekeeping, safety, quality and efficiency standards.
- Performs line assembly and/or support operations to mass produce automotive seating units in accordance with specifications.
- Builds parts in a specified manner according to the Operator Description Sheets
- Develop proficiency in all production job functions and rotate in job cell into various workstations
- Control processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
- Restock work areas as needed to ensure proper workflow
- Monitor production material quantities and report shortages
- Ability to lift and/or carry seating components frequently (Lift assist devices are provided).
- Complete, assembly of quality seating units
- Walk, stand, reach, lift, bend, pull, push to move product through build process
- Use of hand-held pneumatic tools, torque guns, ergonomic arms and other equipment to perform operations on the assembly line
- Bolts, clips, screws, or otherwise fastens parts together
- Operation of assembly fixtures
- Ability to lift 25 lbs, and stand for at least 2 hours at a time.
- Problem solving of workplace issues
- Quality inspections of work in progress
