Description

Accountability Specialist
Melbourne | Permanent, Full-Time

We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Accountability Specialist to help strengthen governance practices, accountability frameworks and policy management across Heartland Bank Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across governance, policy and regulatory frameworks while building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk, Compliance & Sustainability, you will play a key role in maintaining accountability frameworks, managing policy governance processes and supporting regulatory obligations including FAR and Regulated Person requirements. You will help ensure governance activities are well coordinated, evidence-based and aligned with Heartland's risk management framework.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintain accountability registers, ownership records and governance documentation.

  • Coordinate accountability attestations, review cycles and evidence collection.

  • Manage the policy suite lifecycle, including monitoring reviews, approvals and publication requirements.

  • Prepare reporting for risk leadership and governance forums.

  • Track actions, follow up with stakeholders and monitor the closure of governance activities.

  • Coordinate FAR administration, accountability mapping and regulated person requirements.

  • Support process improvements that strengthen governance practices and reporting quality.

Does this sound like you?

  • You have experience in governance, risk, compliance, accountability or policy administration within banking or financial services.

  • You are highly organised and thrive on managing multiple governance activities and deadlines simultaneously.

  • You have strong attention to detail and enjoy maintaining accurate records and registers.

  • You are confident engaging with stakeholders and following up on actions while maintaining positive relationships.

  • You have experience supporting FAR, APRA Fit and Proper, Responsible Manager requirements or similar regulatory frameworks.

  • You enjoy finding ways to simplify processes and improve governance outcomes.
