Job Summary:

The Produce Associate is primarily responsible for customer service and stocking. The associate ensures products are fresh and attractive to customers. This position involves restocking shelves, organizing items on shelves, removing expired products from displays, and assisting customers in their daily shopping needs. The Produce Associate is responsible for ensuring that the store is maintained in a clean, safe and appealing state to customers.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions:

Stock and replenish shelves with fresh, well-presented products
Rotate items and remove expired goods to maintain quality
Provide friendly, welcoming customer service
Assist customers with locating items and fulfilling orders
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the department
Follow proper procedures for receiving, storing, labeling, and restocking products
Monitor refrigeration equipment and report any issues
Support other departments as needed — teamwork is key

Minimum Qualifications:

Previous grocery or food handling experience preferred
Basic knowledge of produce is a plus
Strong customer service and communication skills
Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Detail-oriented with a focus on cleanliness and organization
Flexible schedule (including weekends and holidays)
Reliable transportation required

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and kneeling throughout the shift
Clear vision and hearing to ensure safety, accuracy, and effective communication
Ability to climb step stools or ladders as needed
Must be able to work on weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as scheduled
