IT Analyst & Software Engineer

GBS Chevron Global Business Services (GBS), located in Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero), Argentina, is accepting online applications from professionals interested in IT Analyst and Software Engineering opportunities. About the role

Professionals in these roles help connect business needs with effective technology solutions. Depending on the position and candidate profile, responsibilities may include analyzing business processes and requirements, designing technology solutions, developing or configuring applications, supporting existing systems, and participating throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities may include

  • Partnering with business and IT stakeholders to understand business needs, workflows, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Eliciting, evaluating, documenting, and communicating business and functional requirements.
  • Translating business requirements into scalable technology solutions, functional specifications, user stories, wireframes, use cases, or technical designs.
  • Analyzing relationships among business processes, systems, events, and data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Developing, configuring, enhancing, integrating, and supporting business applications.
  • Debugging and resolving application issues using appropriate programming concepts, tools, and engineering practices.
  • Developing and supporting low-code solutions.
  • Collaborating with business partners to identify, prioritize, and implement application enhancements.
  • Configuring and supporting SaaS or enterprise platforms based on business requirements.
  • Creating, maintaining, and automating application testing suites.
  • Supporting testing, training, implementation, and rollout activities.
  • Deploying software across multiple environments using standard software engineering and DevOps practices.
  • Advising teams on technology applications, architecture, and integration points.
  • Communicating proactively with internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment and clarity.
  • Supporting small projects or cross-functional teams and contributing to change management activities.

The responsibilities combine the business analysis, process, stakeholder, solution-design, development, testing, deployment, and application-support elements included in the original descriptions.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
    • Business or systems analysis.
    • Software development.
    • Application configuration and support.
    • Business process improvement.
    • Enterprise technology implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand complex business or technical problems and work through them with persistence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey business and technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global, cross-functional environment.
  • Curiosity about technology and a passion for solving business problems.
  • Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work at both a high level and a detailed level while managing multiple assignments.

Technical experience

Depending on the specific opportunity, relevant experience may include one or more of the following:

  • Microsoft technologies such as .NET, Power Platform, SQL Server, or related tools.
  • JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • SaaS application configuration and support.
  • Enterprise platforms such as SAP,  or similar ERP or CRM solutions.
  • API, messaging, data integration, or other integration technologies and patterns.
  • Application testing methodologies, automation tools, and quality practices.
  • Agile delivery approaches such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • DevOps practices and software deployment across multiple environments.

These technical areas consolidate the technologies and preferred experience identified across the two original profiles.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working in an Agile delivery team.
  • Experience developing and documenting functional or technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with information risk management requirements and processes.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level technology projects.
  • Experience leading small projects or collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage issues and conflicts constructively, directly, and objectively.
  • Leadership capabilities such as initiative, mentoring, influencing, and change management.
